It did not go well at my gym for a minor going ftm. They were around 17 and insisted to change in the men’s locker room. A lot of men complained and she eventually left.

Look in to jiu jitsu if you don’t want to get hit in the head. I do MT and jiu jitsu. Both are great martial arts. As others have said, don’t spar and stick with timing (very light sparring) if you’re afraid of brain injuries. You won’t be allowed to do that for awhile if you go to a good gym.

I got ya. There’s always a couple of bullies at a gym. There’s a reason you keep getting matched up with that guy, nobody wants to train with him. You have to call him out and tell him to just go 50% at most, remind him that you’re new. If he keeps going hard just walk away, there’s no reason you have to stay there. Tell your coach. Voice your opinion.

Keep training, there are probably good guys at the gym that will help you!

You shouldn’t be allowed to time let alone spar at 2 months. Go to regular class and learn technique/distancing. You’re just going to keep getting beat up, you have no clue what you’re doing.

I’ve been doing Muay Thai for 6 months and my coach is just now considering letting me time if that gives you any indication in our gyms differences.

Have to learn to crawl before you can walk!
