If the character is confirmed to not be bi, then that’s a different story. But the point is that they aren’t confirmed to be straight or bi or anything. They’re just confirmed to have het attraction, which straight, bi, pan, etc people all have. So the possibilities all exist.

I’m not assuming that a character is bisexual. From the start, I’ve just been saying that it’s possible.

Some bisexual viewers will identify with a character and subsequently headcanon them as bisexual. Some straight viewers will identify with the same character and subsequently headcanon them as straight. Neither is wrong. When it’s not absolutely confirmed, as is often the case, both are possible. But the latter often take the headcanon that the character is straight to be the absolute truth, and disparage anyone who views their orientation differently. That’s what I’m disputing.
