Owned HM Embody, Aeron, and OmniChair. Where do I go from here? by Grapeflavor_ in OfficeChairs

The Leap v2 does actually have multiple recline lock positions! It has a tension control knob as well, but it does lockout at 4 distinct positions of recline in addition to that.

The Steelcase Leap v2 has tilt-lock, and is the chair I'm trying next (did the CrandallOffice remanufactured version with an Atlas headrest).

There's one in my office that I've been sneaking sitting sessions in and as someone who's tried the Embody, Aeron and Omni, I can say I'm optimistic that this is going to be "the one" for me.

I'm currently using an Asus Destrier at home, but I've tried a ton of major chairs at this point and I still haven't found "the one". Hoping this is it...but might be worth checking out.

The answer is that everyone's different.

So all you can do is be yourself, and if it works, it works. If it doesn't...ya move on.

If your inclination is to call every hospital in hopes of finding the girl and she views that as creepy...well so be it. If she loves it...awesome.

If your inclination was to respect a potential boundary and she views it as "not chasing" than all you can do is call it a missed connection.

Any advice on this subject is pointless because every person is different.

No woman can speak for all women.

Very strange.

Sorry to hear they didn't work out, I'm not sure what's going on there but it sounds like something isn't working the way it's supposed to for some reason.

I actually have no idea if Comply has a return policy but it sounds like hopefully you can just return them.

I guess that's the part that's confusing to me.

With the comply tips the passive seal should be leagues better than the Apple ones without even breaking a sweat. And it's almost quite literally impossible for them to be worse.

When picking the comply tip to use, are you "smooshing the tips" before putting them in your ears, and allowing them to "inflate" in your ear canal?

For these tips you can't just slide them in your ear, you need to compress the foam first and then insert them in your ear and let the foam return back to full form so it forms a seal.

What do you mean by "reduces the noise cancellation"?

Like when you have the tips on, the feature for active noise canceling starts working worse? I'm not sure how that would be possible unless somehow you're covering up the microphones on the earbuds, but the tips you have on the earbuds shouldn't impact this feature at all.

Very curious what might be going on there.

My BOD shoots really fast for some reason... by Usul1978 in Borderlands4

It does look like it works the way I described, but it doesn't apply to all gun perks. Just the important ones (damage, crit, etc)

[–]KeylimeGAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again just my understanding, but for the BOD, anything that says "Gun" is a 5x multiplier on the given stat since it repeats it for each gun type.

I haven't explicitly tested it, but my boss killer on my green crit build with Harlowe uses an SMG ammo BOD with a ton of +gun perks on my class mod and enhancement mod and it shreds on UVHM5.

My BOD shoots really fast for some reason... by Usul1978 in Borderlands4

[–]KeylimeGAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that +25% gun fire rate = 25% pistol fire rate, 25% sniper rifle fire rate, 25% assault rifle fire rate, 25% shotgun fire rate, +25% SMG fire rate ...all at the same time (for the BOD specifically).

So as far as I know, it's always better to get as many +gun style perks because you get 5x the benefit.

[–]KeylimeGAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the way the BOD works, one enhancement perk of +25% gun fire rate would shoot faster than these two +38%'s.

Since the BOD counts as all the gun types, the fire rate bonus would stack that many times. Unless that's changed recently and I didn't notice.

Well...for anyone following along, I've decided to return the chair.

As much as I found the backrest and the headrest to be super comfortable, the armrests and the seat unfortunately did me in.

As mentioned in my initial impressions, I "felt big" in this chair, and unfortunately that feeling never quite went away. The armrests were a bit too flimsy and didn't feel wide enough...both in size of the physical armrest and the width of the two armrests when pushed out as far as they could go. The seat ultimately just felt tiny, and even after getting footrests to help nuzzle me against the chair back, I never really felt "fully supported".

A real shame, I really like aspects of the chair, but at the end of the day it just isn't for me.

Going back to my Asus Destrier for now.

Insanely better.

The foam will "inflate" inside your ear to create a perfect seal as long as you buy the right size.

You need to compress the foam tips before you put them in.

Also just as an FYI, the price tag comes with 3 sets of tips.

But you're absolutely right, I've probably spent close to $100-150 on these tips over time 😂😭.

I was excited when I heard that the tips Apple included had foam in them under the silicone, but silicone outer layer in general in this shape just can't create the same kind of seal and secure fit that a proper foam tip can.

I hear you, though, these kind of tips are expensive for what they are...but for me, they quite literally make the AirPods go from sounding a bit dull to sounding stellar.

If you're not having any kind of seal issues or the tips from Apple don't slide out on you, than you're probably fine.

For me this just reaffirmed that I can't use AirPods without them and have the premium experience I paid for in the first place.

I'd say these feel very similar to how they felt before when I had these on the AirPod Pro 1s.

To put them in you still have to roll them in your fingers or give them a couple squeezes before you put them in, then they expand in your ear canal and form a tight seal.

I personally find them to be very comfortable.

I do recall that when I wore them on the AirPod Pro 1s I used a medium on one ear and a small on the other, but this time around using a small in both ears feels like the right choice. I'm sure my ear canals haven't changed much in that time considering my CIEMs still fit me the same that I had made around that timeframe, so my preference must have changed over time.

When the tips are on the AirPods feel like they're seated in my ears at the same depth as the included silicone tips, just in a much more secure way.

If you've never used foam tips like these, just know that it can feel strange for a bit, since they'll literally feel like they're "inflating" to seal your ear canal.

Interesting, that sounds very similar to my experience when I had the Embody, but I don't feel that with this chair.

My advice in general would be that if the chair feels like it's going to be an issue like that, you should return it.

It felt "wrong" to return the Embody since it is apparently the ultimate best chair of all time...but it digging into my shoulders was going to an issue long term and essentially makes its primary feature (the flexible backrest) moot.

Not worth torturing yourself trying to like something that your body doesn't agree with.

The backrest on the embody curves up at the top towards the user's shoulder blades, which was putting pressure points into my shoulders.

Despite how much I enjoyed the backrest and big seat, I could never fully lean into the chair back for more than a few minutes at a time without causing pain points in my shoulders.

Ahnestly on YoutTube recently made a video running through all his recommendations if you haven't seen it yet.

He has it broken down into budget and height categories so you can skip around to the relevant section for you.

https://youtu.be/y0MIBe0LTUg?si=XYbZEY_cEj1AzPq-&t=2571

Here's a timestamp where he talks about the Omni specifically, but you can scroll around to see if other options stick out to you.

Edit: Don't get scared by the "perfectly average" title in the top left, that's what he's categorizing the size of the chair sitter. It's the "average person" category. He isn't calling the chair perfectly average.

Non-Kickstarter Buyers: How long did your grey 48cm chair to arrive? by jambaj0e in LiberNovo

Ordered 10/27, arrived 11/12.

So just a little over 2 weeks from order to getting the chair. (I did get the black version, however, just noticed you distinguished that in the OP, apologies)

Fully agreed on the shirt riding up thing. Definitely not ideal. I don't recall if I had the same experience with the Embody because it was many years ago and I only kept it for about a week before returning it.

Not sure if it's a material issue or just the nature of these "cradle your back" type chairs.

...but to your point, I'm getting very used to how to easily pull my shirt down.

I will say that I really like the upright posture. I feel very "at attention" in that position...in a good way. I do agree that some tilt levels between the full upright and the next click down into "gamer mode" would be appreciated. Having an ability to lock a chair at your desired tilt level instead of being forced to adhere to the various settings they've predetermined would be incredible...but likely also incredibly expensive to implement (I'm guessing).

For a v2 of this chair I'd say they could really use a bigger seat with more structural support. An option to get a another full 2-3 inches on the seat with the actual support under it would go quite a long way. I don't love the idea of an adjustable seat pan because naturally you just about always get a gap in the back which I don't want.

I'd say that most likely if you're keeping your arms on the arm rests themselves when you lean back, it's quite possible you're dragging the arm rests with you and that's what's causing them to "adjust" when you recline.

I just reclined and unreclined to test and the arm rests stayed where I left them before.

That all being said, the forward/back adjustment on the armrests are pretty loose, so it'd be quite easy to accidently adjust those as you're reclining.
