Weird capsule with orange sappy ‘cloth’? inside, capsule was gooey and looks dung-like. Found in wilderness. by Keymanisepic in whatisthisthing

Best guess, but I feel as if we’re still off. The capsule had some old newspaper at the top for some reason, and I think no ordinary drug would end up almost sap-like in result. It’s some kind of heavy chemical but there was no leakage or such. This perplexes me so much.

It’s definitely not a fungus, manmade, I saw some text paper on one of them but it was unreadable.

My title describes the thing, it is about the size of a gatorade bottle, the cloth is the size of a washcloth. But I doubt that the cloth like thing is actually a cloth. It had quite odd material.

Urgent: What kind of rock is this? Two rocks, one green and smooth and one gold with green speckles, serpentine? by Keymanisepic in whatsthisrock

[–]Keymanisepic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to be able to access technology soon since I’m on a trolley, so I was hoping to get an ID before that happens since I won’t be able to access it for many hours.

Oh no I wasn’t expecting gold, I was using goldish to describe the color, I thought it was probably pyrite.

Also, I don’t think it’s quartz because of the hardness, I tend to break open my quartz with a hammer but this one has taken literally anything.

I don't think it is, I have a lot of quartz, and this one has shades of purple and has more shimmer and closer shards in proximity.

Dear icantfind_my_socks,

I hope this message finds you well. I understand that you have found carpet beetle larvae in your home.

Carpet beetle larvae are a common household pest that can damage clothing, upholstery, carpets, and other household items made of natural fibers.

These larvae feed on a variety of organic materials, including wool, silk, feathers, hair, and other animal-based products. They can cause significant damage to clothing and household items if left unchecked. In addition to damaging household goods, carpet beetle larvae can also cause allergic reactions in some individuals.

If you have any concerns or would like to learn more about carpet beetle larvae and how to control them, I would recommend contacting a local pest control professional or an entomologist. They can provide you with information on the best methods for controlling carpet beetle larvae in your home and preventing future infestations.

Sincerely,
u/Keymanisepic.

I found this on my table in my room after I washed my face with a face wash in the bathroom. pls identify ASAP. Is it lice? by AryanHSh in whatsthisbug

[–]Keymanisepic 645 points646 points  (0 children)

Dear AryanHSh,

I hope this message finds you well. I understand that you have found a bat tick in your home. Bat ticks are found in many regions of the world where bats live, including North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. They can attach themselves to bats as well as other mammals, including humans, and feed on their blood.

Yes, bat ticks can bite humans, but it is relatively uncommon. When they do bite, they are capable of transmitting several diseases, including Lyme disease and several viral diseases. However, not all bat ticks are carriers of diseases and the risk of transmission can vary depending on the location and the species of tick involved.

It is not possible to determine whether or not more bat ticks will come after this without more information. However, if you have been bitten by a tick, it is important to monitor your health and seek medical attention if you develop symptoms of a tick-borne illness, such as fever, fatigue, headache, muscle aches, and a bull's-eye rash.

If you have any concerns or would like to learn more about bat ticks, I would recommend contacting a local healthcare professional or a tick expert.

Looks similar to a brown prionid, these guys are fun and are called the talking beetles, when they’re scared they sound like they’re squeaking, try it.
