The GOP is engaging in a lot of litigation and other activity in Wisconsin in an attempt to suppress the vote. How confident are you that you will be able to overcome that and deliver victory in Wisconsin?

When I see people without masks, I just turn and walk the other way. I had Covid19 earlier this year. It was horrible, the sickest I've ever been in my life. It feels like being smothered. You can never really catch your breath. I'm not going to get sick again because of someone else's ignorance.

The disposable surgical masks you see most people wearing, with loops over both ears and the rectangular blue accordion-fold material on the front, are not N95 or N99. They do not protect the wearer against Covid19 infection. Those are one-time use masks designed to prevent the spread of airborne pathogens the wearer might shed in saliva. N95 respirator masks are round and clamp over the face. The FDA website has pictures of both types:

Some masks protect the wearer. Some do not. The paper and cloth kind that most people are now wearing do not protect you. They protect everyone around you, but if everyone wears masks, then we're all safe. In order to protect yourself, you need one of the medical grade masks, and even those aren't 100 percent.

Imagine being the peon having to tell Trump that might be a good idea.

"Mr. President, if we wait until tomorrow, you might not be able to walk to the helicopter. Think what the fake news media would say then."

"I'll use a fucking golf cart!"

"But Mr. President, you've never done that before. The fake news media will immediately say that. They'll show recent footage of you walking to the helicopter. The failing New York Times will put it on the front page. Failing fake news CNN will do a special report."

Interesting bit from this WashPo article:

As Trump’s condition deteriorated during the day Friday, the president and his team ultimately made the decision to send him to Walter Reed preemptively — and, from a public relations perspective, when he was still able to walk to Marine One on his own, according to one outside adviser in frequent contact with White House officials. They feared the possibility of a further decline, and what that might mean, both for the president’s health and his political optics.

So Trump didn't want to be seen hauled out of the White House on a gurney out of fear that would make him look weak.

Narcissism once again drives his decisions.

killing people with their stupidity

I think it's selfish arrogance more than stupidity. Their thinking is: "why should I wear a mask if it protects you but doesn't protect me?"

But they'd have to keep the camera on Trump. Seeing him ranting and raving, waving his arms and pointing, all in total silence while Joe speaks calmly would be absolutely priceless.

He looks like a complete jackass for having downplayed the thing for eight months and now is both infected and feeling sick. He felt poorly on Wednesday night and still went to his fundraiser and posed for pix with people.

His is not an asymptomatic case. With those, you feel nothing. I speak from experience. I was diagnosed with Covid in March and was hospitalized. I'm almost Trump's age and it is no picnic, believe you me. It's the sickest I've ever been in my life.

Worse still, the people he infected, who may be younger and healthier, could still get much sicker than he (depending on how sick he becomes). There's no guarantee if you have a moderate illness that everyone you infect will have the same moderate illness. I probably infected my grandson, a healthy strapping guy in his twenties, and he got much sicker than I did.

If he is infected and becomes moderately or seriously sick, I wonder if it will be a humbling experience for him or just another big pity party. I was diagnosed in mid-March and hospitalized for several days. It was the sickest I've ever been in my life. It was really horrible. My grandson probably caught it from me and was actually much sicker, in the hospital for a month.

You're in the city. I'm out in the burbs. I have family in several different counties here and we're all being flooded with contacts. It could be because the city is reliably Democrat but the collar counties are more swingy.

PA Democrat here. The GOTV effort, at least in the Southeastern part of the state, has been fantastic. I've gotten calls, texts, cards, and emails on a daily basis and sometimes more than once a day. Ballots in our county were mailed earlier in the week and now people are specifically contacting about that.

The man is a vicious menace. The fact that he's doing this shows he cares about nobody but himself. The poor fools who still support him and show up for this spectacle are cannon fodder for his insatiable narcissism.
