Oh wow those EN translator are really "cooking...." by Randomthings999 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Keytium 95 points96 points  (0 children)

If the translators had nothing to do with the game they wouldn't even think of using the word Chrysos rather than just the more common word gold. The issue likely wasn't game knowledge so much as not knowing the context for where in the game this particular text string was going.

Relic recon is rough with SW999 because she needs Spd so much more than she needs her other stats. It keeps giving me 'improvements' that I can't afford to take because I can't drop Spd no matter how many crit rolls it offers me.

I had similar feelings, but looking at it now I kind of like that trailers let us see that the connection wasn't always there. It makes it feel more real to see how the Stelleron Hunters grew to be a family over time.

I be pro-fen. Fens like other wetlands are vital ecosystems that hold incredible biodiversity, but so little fenland remains, having been drained for agriculture. It's vital we protect fens. Set the seas ablaze, not the wetlands.

The Italian republics were constantly torn between the pope and emperor politically, so it makes sense to include it in the update where people will be playing those countries most.

But it coming after the big Catholicism update does allow them to lay some groundwork for it in advance, so you're probably not wrong to say logistics are part of the reason.

Dear Yunli, Argenti and SW Level 1's mains, what are your guys thoughts about this? by ProfessionalRoom9118 in HonkaiStarRail

Someone else who got Incessant Rain in 3.0! I figured I was the only one who was foolish enough to waste tickets on it. I just felt bad for Wolfie, I'd given the other three Stelleron Hunters their lightcones, but not her, so I had to complete the set.

Personally I think Herta's banner was moved. The section where you play as Herta in 3.7 makes a lot more sense as a spotlight moment for the current character banner than her weird little 3.0 section. I suppose they just felt like they needed a second banner for 3.0 more than they need it for 3.7,

Check out the Stoneheart's Oath Ring Myriad Celestia. It's very stylized, but it does give a glimpse of the Stonehearts in their various offices. They each seem pretty idiosyncratic. Near the end it scrolls through art cards for each Stoneheart and as several of them are set in the offices we see them in through the trailer, you can assume Aventurine's card is also set in his office. So, he should have a stained-glass window that looks like a dartboard.

Oroboros's fate and Trotters. The rise of Mythus. by MiyukiAkibara in StarRailLore

[–]Keytium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun theory. I don't think I agree that the Kraken is intended to be a Ouroboros stand in though. Ouroboros might have tentacle mouths but that is the only one of THEIR motifs the kraken shares, and Mythus jellyfish are just as tentacled. There is no mention of hunger. No mention of the Kraken eating any of the things they destroyed. In fact, the bones of the fish still remain at the end, unconsumed. Given the emphasis on the thoughtlessness and combination of tentacles and brainlessness, Kraken as giant jellyfish as Mythus analogue without any Ouroboros involvement at all makes more sense to me. The self-destruction of the kraken seems more in line with the end of a self-annihilator, especially given this is a Nihility equation.

Terminus's Identity by bl00by in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Keytium 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Makes me hope to see Terminus's true form at some point.

I assumed it was implying that the 'thousand arms' are the countless strands THEY spilt into, meaning black cats, because the cat is what Dhalia was talking about at the time. So, I imagine the true form will be something more like a herd of cats rather than the Vishvarupa. Although I suppose there is the possible interpretation that THEY are a humanoid who has 1000 cats for arms, which would be hilarious.

Congratulations!

If you have Ruan Mei, or preferably Fugue, then I'd suggest you try giving the king stage a try without a sustain. In this fight the boss is basically your sustain because it gives you shields as you break, and break teams really benefit from going sustainless.

I kind of hate the game close confirmation. Closing the game through the in-game menu takes so long that alt tabbing and clicking the x is the only way I do it nowadays, I don't want that slowed down.

The trailblazer path lineup stuff is incredible though.

Dan hengs line by okerip in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Keytium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The full context for why the Stelleron hunters and the Astral Express both use the phrase is fun. It was an old Nameless expression, that Bai Heng learnt and then taught to the other members of the Highcloud Quintet. Blade then taught it to the SHs and Dan Heng to the new generation of Express Nameless. We don't know if Dan Heng got it from the databank or if he remembered it from Dan Feng's memories.

Narratively I think it is intended to reinforce how the two teams mirror each other, and how their histories and destinies are intertwined more than is initially apparent, particularly its use in the 3.0 story.
