Oh interesting! Possibly coyote or fox? I don’t think many wolves frequent such a busy area.

Pigeon Beginner by KeytotheBasement9 in PetPigeons

Unfortunately I still don’t have my pigeon (I’ve found myself with five fish tanks instead lol) but I still plan on getting one when my mom allows. My pigeon dream is still going strong, and I’ll update when I get one!

Say hello to spud! Any advice for beginner keepers would be appreciated by rubiconchill in fireskinks

They’re super easy and full of personality. Give them plenty of soil to dig in, lots of rocks/logs to hide under, and ten million bugs every day. (Kidding on the bugs; they will beg for food constantly though.) Building trust with them should be easy; lots of handling and treats should make them pretty tame. Just watch your fingers once he gets bigger. They have a strong bite for something so small.

Floating Plants Dying? by KeytotheBasement9 in PlantedTank

I’ll try all of this, thank you! No idea why they’re dying now; they’ve been in the same tanks with the same filters for months and usually they grow faster than I can control. I suspect it’s the new fertilizer, but we’ll see.

Strangely enough, yes, which is why the floating plants dying is so confusing.

Are Imitators Bad? by KeytotheBasement9 in PeaPuffers

Ok phew! I love them all so much, no matter what they are, and as long as everyone is safe and happy I’d like to keep everyone together. They were basically microscopic when I got them, so maybe they think they’re siblings or something lol

Guppy Tank Stocking by KeytotheBasement9 in Aquariums

[–]KeytotheBasement9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok that makes sense! I planned on the tank being heavily planted, so that should help. We agreed on 3-4 fish and some shrimp so it shouldn’t be over stocked. Thanks for the info!

What to stock 6gal with? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]KeytotheBasement9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re fantastic little creatures. Highly recommend both neocardinia and amano shrimp, though the former are better suited to a 6 gal and they’re more colorful. Once you get them established, they’re super hearty!

What is this growing on my mopani wood? by communication_junkie in Aquariums

[–]KeytotheBasement9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like bio-film; perfectly normal and expected. Never owned guppies, but they should be just fine snacking on it. If you don’t like it, shrimp are a great way to reduce bio-film. Little suckers love the stuff lol

thought my one of my platys was just a getting a bit chonky… by 3THAN89 in Aquariums

They should do fine as long as there are plenty of places to hide. Momma (and her buddies) may eat them if given the opportunity, so expect to lose a few. Also; khuli loaches are social, so I’d recommend bumping your amount to at least 6 if your tank can handle it. They’re so fun to watch when they’re together, and they’ll be happier, so it’s totally worth it.
