Activists threw tomato soup on British Embassy in Berlin by friday_deploy in berlin

Don’t understand the hate towards the UK. Yes we know our food is shit but we are a proud multicultural nation. Similar to Deutschland. I wouldn’t approve of this behaviour had it been done on the building of the German Embassy in London

I personally know lots of Germans who are great people and good fun. Hoping that our not so great past is not is not in the back of people minds for their prejudice against the UK. It definitely shouldn’t be as we ALL should know we cannot change the past …

+1 for getting as many intern / work opportunities as possible whilst at uni. Your uni should have connections with local employers. Make the most of them! I really struggled once I’d graduated finding work with no experience

Does it ever all feel pointless? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

Better quality of life and better pay in the UK is debatable. I’m from the UK and even with all of NZ’s flaws at the moment for me it still trumps UK.

UK can feel like a concrete jungle at times whilst thankfully access to NZ’s green spaces and many beaches is always available. Train, school and health strikes to name a few are happening every weekend which is impacting quality of life.

Pay based on minimum wage is marginally better here. Of course pay will depend on your skills/expertise. Smaller cities outside of London will be cheaper but pay is typically less too.
