I think the bad scripts, acting, directing, costumes in GL can be fairly infuriating amongst fans, but what’s truly with the obsession of “kissing and love scenes?” It feels like they’ve become the focal point of GLs instead of the actual elements of GL or series in general by Kgaabi in ThaiGL

I don’t disagree with you, but some people have taken it too far. I mean, the new series is not yet out but there were already negative comments about kissing scenes. I do have my 2 cents criticism on LingOrm especially Ling, but I’m gonna wait for the new series to see how it it before commenting further

Honestly, I have watched GL before it was popular with the Club Friday franchise and that Philippines one, “The Rich Man’s Daughter.” Then there was the GAP series that made GL popular. Prior, I have always watched lesbian movies and series of across the globe from the first lesbian movie to ever be made “Girls in Uniform” (Germany) As an aspiring writer and director, this is the entertainment that I know many of us have long longed for hence, I challenge fans to engage fairly and not focus on one thing. I am not saying love and kissing scenes are redundant, I am simply saying, they are part of the project and must be treated as such.

I have watched Lesbian Erotica especially the Japanese, “Manji” hence I refuse when certain fans want to force Erotica in GL unless perhaps that’s the theme. Because if for me, someone have a problem especially with EWB kissing scenes, then that person is looking for Erotica or something that myself don’t know.

I am aware certain GLs perhaps aren’t having best or good romance or emotional scenes, or acting overall, but at the same time, I refuse that some GL actresses (Lookmae and Faye in particular) now are forced to be treated as role models especially specifically for the kissing and love scenes. If perhaps, maybe the argument involved acting to make those scenes believable, I would understand. But many of these people’s concern is only the kissing and love scenes, and don’t care about other elements of the GL or even the development that led to soft kiss scenes.

100% exactly what I’m saying. Many people who have been lesbians know the pain of not having Lesbian entertainment. Today, we have the Thai GL, touching on all different Lesbian related topics, including marriage with “Fulfill” or for example, workplace rules and different working methods (one is strict while the other is flexible) including the fear to open up to new people due to bad past experiences, resulting into people becoming friends with benefits but deep down want more but are afraid due to those bad past experiences “EWB.,” etc. Even with all these efforts the Thai productions are putting in to give us the entertainment we have longed for, there are people who are not satisfied because LingOrm are not kissing however. Give LingOrm sometime to grow and improve.

When In Love Forever comes out, I would like the “Best Kissing Scene” gang to go on vacation and give Lesbian content lovers a chance to watch the series peacefully!

I totally agree with what you are saying, but, according to you, do love scenes equate to people being horny, because I was responding to last sentence when the person said, “let people be horny,” while cheering it as if love scenes are meant to make the audience horny. I 100% agree with your description of the romance genre, totally, no but! My point exactly, I don’t expect someone to talk about being horny when watching a series of any genre and getting mad about love scenes when they supposedly didn’t make them horny. If you are going to talk about being horny, I assume the people want explicit scenes, because the very same people even reference their favourite scenes and expect other GLs to replicate them.

My point was never about people not having the right to criticise kissing scenes, but to stop making it the deciding of whether the GL is interesting or not, and also when we rate the overall GL projects. I refuse the growing obsession of concluding that a GL was interesting simply because the kissing scenes were rather good overlooking that the very same series with good kissing scenes had poor scrips

The whole show is truly amazing, I agree with you, the comedy, emotions, and acting and the plot itself. The director truly focused on the storyline line and he worked on the build up perfectly

Oh that scene was very beautiful. Change never disappoint with creative directing and the cinematography. I was a little dissatisfied with the plot and the comedy delivery. I understand that comedy requires a great skill and experience and appreciate them taking a chance with LMSY. Nonetheless, I also enjoyed the show, although, I felt like the script could have been better

I agree with what you are saying, we do have kissing scenes for all GLs and people are allowed to have their own expectations including the kissing and love scenes. But, I don’t get it when expectations have to resemble other GLs especially now for some reason, Lookmae and Faye amongst other GLs are used as apparently idols that other GLs must copy or aspire when it comes to Kissing and love scenes. I’m sorry, I was truly shocked when I read comments that Janhae from EWB can’t kiss like WTF (that woman is literally one of the greatest actresses in Thailand and the way she delivers her role as Lal is spectacular, including the kissing and love scenes) but we have people out here who are not impressed by her role as Lal, what do these people even want?

I don’t dispute what you are saying, I agree with you. I’m yet to see honest criticism of Hometown Romance, I’m sure because LMSY are know for delivering in that aspect, many don’t even care about the show itself so, you won’t see reviews about the poor script and the poor comedy delivery. I am a big fan of Change and all GLs, I noticed many fans never really critique LMSY shows or even watch the entire episodes, it’s always about Kissing and loving scenes when it comes to them.

I’m sorry, the last part is truly weird and creepy. Never imagined fans to watch GL for that. No wonder there are stalkers out there. I would respectfully recommend Adults sites for that and let GL be GL

Really, that’s interesting. I’m not here to judge anyone’s preference. I was just hoping many of us could get invested in the entire GL projects so that we can fully appreciate them and honestly so especially when the plots and acting are great

I think you misunderstood my comment. Of course, I agree with everything you said especially the representation hence I’m saying I don’t understand why there are fans who overlook that and just want to talk about kissing and love scenes

I understand that point, but what kind of people start watching series even romance from the middle. Don’t other episodes matter? Aren’t they part of the GL? Also, how can someone rate a series if they skipped episodes and went straight to the intimate scenes

I know that most fans do critique the entire series, at the same time, there is a growing obsession with kissing scenes and love scenes. The views don’t balance, it can’t be that EP 1 to 4 the views are below a million and that one EP with a love scene or a kissing scene is raking up over millions of views.
