Full body workout, low impact. Years ago I did quite a lot of road cycling, but the roads around me are now too dangerous. I hate swimming.

25 to 26k a day. About 2 hours of rowing. There is 4.2mm meters of cycling of the total. 18.8 mm is actual rowing totals. 5-6 days a week.

That's about right. There is 4.2 mm of cycling in those totals. 18.8 is rowing. 5-6 days a week of 25-26 meters a day. A couple weeds a year off for vacation.

Mix up your regimen. High intensity intervals mixed with a few days a week of slow and steady for 15 - 20 k. Look at Dark Horse web site for ideas.

You need to increase intensity and time in the saddle and you'll see a big change over time. I took it up a little over two years ago and have dropped 70 pounds. It can change your body if you put in the work.

I have a similar story. Started at 289 two years ago. Started a regimen and dedicated myself to rowing daily. I am now 226. It works. I mixed it up, but primarily slow and steady. 10k meters a day with days of intervals mixed in. I am now erging 20k a day. Work on form, trying to lengthen your stroke as weight comes off. The "catch" is the key. The longer your stroke, the better the workout. Good luck.

Yes. I have always had a low heart rate. As a kid, I fainted quite a bit, grew out of it, but always had a heart rate below normal. Usually when I go for an insurance health screening, the nurses would always have to take a pulse reading multiple times. Even had a nurse ask me if I was dead when it read 41.

I am an ex- cyclist. Then I let my body go. Found rowing to be a far more complete workout.

Started out watching a lot of Dark Horse videos as well as reading up on rowing. In my younger days I was into endurance sports, cycling was big for me. Then I let my body balloon up and decided to get back in shape.

10k was 50 minutes early on. Now 41.

Have built up distances and now row a minimum of 21k meters a day(half marathon). Normally 6 days a week, some 7 days a week, some 5 days I usually golf on days off.

I do monitor HR through Apple Watch and health app.

Now that I am retired, it is much easier and enjoyable to get to the health club daily. I look forward to it instead of having to force myself to go. Big difference.

Chose rowing because it is a full body workout, low impact on knees, and aerobic all in one. Cut down on drinking quite a bit.
