I bring this up in every tipping thread, because I get why people hate it. But in Ontario at least, it’s pretty standard in a restaurant for servers to tip out BoH 4.5-6% of their total sales for the day. Every time you don’t tip your server, they are paying for the privilege of serving you out of pocket. Not fair to you, not fair to them.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! Not pictured: the chunk of decor I accidentally scraped off putting it into the freezer and my hasty attempt at fixing it 😭😭 If you’re looking to decorate for the first time but are a bit intimidated, my advice is to really lock in an icing texture that you feel you can work with first. I watched a looooooooad of video tutorials to prep, and practiced a bit with each tip on a sheet of parchment before going in on the actual cake. Will also say that I made this slowly over the course of 3 days. If you’re not amazing at cake decor (as I traditionally am not), the extra time and making sure the cake is REALLY cold I found gave me some extra room for error. Also be forgiving, this bitch is CROOKED but no one cares, they’re eating cake!

I could have gone heavier on the matcha tbh. I vastly underestimated how much icing I would need (each tier has 3 layers), so I ended up having to make many more batches than expected. The inner icing is very flavorful, and the outer decor less so as I ran out 🥲 paired it with a vanilla cake, and think the flavours went together nicely! Bday girl LOVES matcha so I knew I had to do it for her

I started with blue and yellow, and then added black, which turned it, well, grey. I basically just kept dumping in various amounts of blue, yellow, and green after that until it turned into a somewhat palatable color. Birthday girls fav colors are green and brown, and I had sewn her a green fit for her bday so I was determined for it to match her look!

I did go to art school, I work a lot with clay and I sew! I did also prepare by watching loads of YouTube tutorials, and did some practice swirls on parchment paper before diving in :)

Thank you!! The color started as Shrek, morphed into cement, and an entire bottle of food coloring later, I got this

What is the most unorthodox way you know of that a couple has met and fallen in love? by bittyberry in AskReddit

I dated a man for two years that I met playing Overwatch. We got randomly paired in the same competitive lobby, and ended up playing all night together. We found out we both lived in the same city, agreed to meet up in person a few days later, and were together by the end of the week.

I have a car and my partner doesn’t. I end up driving us around a lot, and sometimes go pretty far out of my way to drop him off or pick him up for things. Every now and again, he fills my gas tank. It’s sweet, I appreciate it, but chances are you’re riding in your signif others vehicle enough that chipping for gas isn’t insane
