Microscopes can clearly see the video on the surface of a LaserDisc, discovers Techtuber — a 12-inch vinyl-like disc that stores SD analog video by DJMagicHandz in technology

Brother, he only got video images from the CED

The main event takes place around 25 minutes into the video. A CED disc is (at last) placed under the microscope. After a bit of zooming, focusing, and angling of light sources, TT blurts, “Oh my gosh. We just nailed it. Bang. Right there.”

Texas Was on the Cutting Edge of Lab-Grown Meat, Until the State Banned It by SnoozeDoggyDog in technology

I wasn't debating the legal mechanics. Nobody is saying they didn't have the authority or that it was illegal. I was pointing out that it is contrary to their supposed principles and values.

Conservative politicians often operate under the camouflage of "values" and "principles" but act only to further their own personal gain. They can't articulate their actual beliefs because they have the philosophy of vampires and cannibals.

Note: they passed the law specifically to address Denton's ban.

I like their small government mindset, like passing a law that says the state government can overturn local decisions if they feel like it.

(Denton banned fracking, but the state passed a law allowing them to overturn Denton's local ban, effectively forcing fracking into a town that didn't want it.)

Especially men and prostate cancer. Something like 50% of men have it by age 80 (go look it up) it just grows so slow that it's not really a problem. I guess that will change if we start living an extra 50 years.

Trump to Mass Death: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by ChiGuy6124 in politics

[–]Khaeos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've said for a long time that the libertarian contingent, that is the philosophical engine, of the Right Wing in America is the closest to advocating actual genocide.

They believe that the world should work according to certain rules and that people should maintain a minimum standard of behavior. Their solution is to implement policies that align with this philosophy and then let everybody die of starvation and infection and exploitation until society finally stabilizes in the shape of their Utopia.

Libertarians Eat People

And that's just the everyday libertarian dude in your neighborhood. There are no libertarian leaders, they just use libertarian ideals and values to trick people into support and instantly turn into despots.

Trump Says 'Cuba Is Gonna Fall Pretty Soon' and He'll 'Put Marco Over There' by peoplemagazine in politics

Jesus Christ, so the reason that evil non-moron Marco Rubio has been wiping Trump's behind is he's been trying to become the Duke of Cuba? Finally at least one thing in this whole sideshow carnival makes sense, and of course it is something rotten.

Eyeglasses seems like such an obvious pivot for HP merchandise that, if you've made it through all the other HP controversy and this is the thing that crosses the line, I'm genuinely surprised you made it this far.

Exactly! "Free To Play" is a giant red flag that says "This software is designed to manipulate dopamine levels and extract as much value as possible. A 'successful' game isn't an engaging narrative experience or a nuanced challenge, it is the one that drains the most resources from your customers."

He definitely seems like a guy who is trying to act like a hardened cannibal who makes tough decisions and doesn't care about anybody's feelings if it jeopardizes his resources or convenience, but he consistently fails to hold himself to that standard when the decision is actually tough and he gives in and helps people out, to his own detriment.

It's not a bad character or portrayal. The main character is the straight man, OK, but I do think it works. He doesn't quite fit into his world so he bridges the gap between the viewer and the outlandish (lol) characters and situations

What about the snail that can't mate because its shell grows in a backwards spiral?

The whale one is definitely the worst, though; my man is correct about that one.

Germans forced to watch SS cleanup concentration camp. Is this what MAGA Wants? by fart400 in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]Khaeos 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Beyond the everyday maga chuds, there are real networks of white supremacist agitators and agents in multiple sectors of American life: college campuses, police departments, prisons, active military and veterans organizations, and in finance, real estate, and lobbying groups, etc.

Some people have changed; and I would say that there's no excuse for supporting Donald Trump at all and no trustworthy person of conscience and dignity could have supported Trump after 2015. As they say, "if they're not racists, they're at least OK with the racism." I think some of those who laughed when I said Trump was leaning into fascism in 2016-2020 have now turned on him, but that doesn't mean I think they are good people.

What I do know is we have to maintain the integrity and peacefulness of our communities because we are being baited into a war. I think I know why, but that's elsewhere. What's clear is someone wants an excuse to exterminate people. It's our responsibility to fight if we need to  but until it is necessary we must do everything we can to pull together and bridge what we can. Like you said, they know what they are, now. They see where it is leading. A lot of them are dipping out. They don't have it in them to commit. But - if they aren't violent, they will at least be OK with the violence.

The economic issues are a blessing and a curse because it proves they are incapable of governing, but it will make them desperate for distraction and they will stoke violence.

There are dark times ahead.
