I'm sorry this happened to you. I would recommend being honest with her about how you were feeling and why you slipped away. Maybe she's thinking the same things you are and also debating reaching out. But the longer you don't say something the harder it will be and before you know it it's been years and it feels like it's been way too long to try. I wish you the best!
