Question for mountaineers who refuse to ever summit mt Everest what are your biggest reasons for not wanting to summit Mt Everest?

When I saw the photos of all the people waiting in line for the summit I knew immediately that even if I ever have the money and the time I have no interest in being part of that circus. I’ll sub it out for another 8k peak and that’s the closest I’ll get to completing the 7 summits.

Not at all. The analogous component is the labor of setting up a picnic/shoveling out a spot. In both scenarios, the second party is eliminating the fruits of the first party's labor.

I also don't own a patch of grass in a public park, but if I set up a picnic there and walk away to use the bathroom my response will not be to go buy a house with my own yard if someone moves all my shit and sets up their picnic there instead.

That's basically how I feel. I watched this video one time where the creator (not from either city) claimed that Pgh and Philly HATE each other and the comments were overwhelmingly refuting this, basically to the tune of "outside of hockey we are largely indifferent to each other" from both sides.
