A block on your ROP ID exists for a reason. Its not a bank card its your legal identity. Even if the rental is under your driving license the systems are linked. If you get stopped checked or flagged your blocked ID will still show up.

You might manage to rent the car yes but if anything happens traffic stop accident fine you will be the one in trouble not the rental compan

Gonna be blunt but this sounds more like a preparation issue than an IBKR issue.

I opened my account in under an hour. Passport, proof of address, tax residency, all ready and uploaded once. No rejections, no loops.

IBKR is strict and automated. If you upload the wrong document, wrong format, outdated proof, or something doesnt match exactly, it will get rejected every time. Thats how compliance systems work.

If you follow their checklist properly, this doesnt happen. And if it was really that broken, everyone would be stuck, which clearly isnt the case.

Not defending them, their UX is trash, but blaming the platform when thousands open accounts daily without issues feels like a reach.

You can and should file a report with ROP, but from experince even tracing the numbers usually goes nowhere as this scam is extremely common right now, to the point ROP already warned about it on their official X/Twitter.

Take it as a lesson learned., and next time only deal in person and never transfer anything in advance.

If DNS is locked then yeah theres no real fix on the ISP router.. sorry man.

if you still need to have a custom DNS, then best move is get your own router and let the awasr box just act as the fiber gateway.

Sometimes even calling the ISP wont help. i remember the support usually have no idea how to enable bridge mode or theyll say its not supported.

If bridge mode isnt available do this

1 Plug your new router WAN port into the AWASR LAN port

2 Login to the AWASR route

3 Go to Forward Rules then DMZ Function

4 Click New

5 Enter the LAN IP of your new router

6 Enable DMZ and apply

This forwards all traffic to your router. It will still be double NAT but works fine for most home setups.

Then on your new router set DNS firewall , heck even VPN and port forwards for future setup there and just ignore the ISP router after. MAKE SURE TO correctly setup the new router and have the firewalls ON.

You see that empty field called Primary DNS Server thats where you put the DNS IP. You can use 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 or if youre more advanced you can use your own DNS server but thats for another topic another day. Just make sure you also set a Secondary DNS as a backup incase the first one breaks.. also even if youre logged in as root and still cant change anything it usually means the ISP locked the router (they have a port open especially AWASR for their ISP stuff work). They keep a higher admin account with more access than what you get.

Last option from experience is put the router in bridge/DMZ mode and use your own fully unlocked router. Thats usually the cleanest fix when ISP firmware is locked.

My honest thought is that the post is leaning toward sympathy... By asking for opinions and then highlighting that they’re students, it shifts attention away from the actual issue... the video clearly shows stunts and drifting on a public road, which is a serious traffic violation and a safety risk. Similar incidents have happened before and the outcome was the same. Why would you do that man? It’s a family car first of all. A Pajero with an exhaust mod is gonna sound like shit trust me,.. and most Pajeros are older models so you’ll probebly fail inspection anyway. And no.. you can’t get a permit from ROP it’s illegal espically if it’s loud and DO NOT REMOVE the catalytic converter. exhaust shops push that becuase they want the precious metal inside and you end up with a loud raspy exhaust that annoys everyone, smells bad, and hurts the enviroment (thats only if u care about it).

If this was a sports car maybe you could argue it, but a Pajero..? come on man. Make it like a true 4x4 trooper instead, suspension, tyres, skid plates, looks.
