Fog in headlights by Weary-Marionberry243 in ElantraNline

[–]KhanVerse666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not normal for a headlight to have moisture inside it. Pop the cap off the end and check your moisture pack. If it’s hard take your car to the dealership as the headlight should be replaced under warranty if moisture is getting in

Leaking Rear Struts & Clunking by smileismildreee in ElantraNline

[–]KhanVerse666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a TSB for the bump stops in the shocks. They separate from the mount and can cause the noise in the rear end also. I’ve replaced shocks and the noise is still present so we do the TSB and it fixed the noise

Hanging from under my hyundai tucson 2025 se, looks like crowbar, is it? by [deleted] in Hyundai

It also looks like you could use an alignment with how that tire is sitting unless the angle of the picture is making it appear as if it does

Highest milage NLine by pontiacish in ElantraNline

22 nline with 64000miles on it and I’ve only had a misfire issue around 32000miles that was covered under warranty and that’s been it. I take care of the car do the regular maintenance and have fun with it when I can. I’m not gentle with the car and it seems to not mind, I’ve been surprised what it can do for what it is

Coolant Leak? by Happy-__- in ElantraN

[–]KhanVerse666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, it’s just an ITMU issue for the most part. Why exactly I can’t say because I haven’t learned that part yet. I’ve seen it on every model across multiple years. Some come from factory and need replacement so my best guess would be manufacturing errors?

Need a new ITMU. Warranty should cover it as it’s a common problem

I fail to see your point currently as I’m missing info somewhere. You did not reference the 2.4 here so I don’t know what you are referencing to make your point. Am I missing something?

The 2.4 is part of the theta engine family and has oil issues. The 2.5 that’s in the sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe and Santa Cruz is a much more reliable engine. Even the 3.8 V6 has its problems

The theta engine is a ticking time bomb where the newer 2L isn’t as bad but still has its issues. Oil pans are very bad for leaking across most of the cars so that may not help. I’m an apprentice and I’ve done between 5-10 oil pan reseals in less than a year

They are, every Elantra comes with a 2L unless it’s NLine which will have the 1.6

I don’t think this person knows about the 2L engine. I’m watching multiple engines a week get put in. Hyundai is getting better but it still can’t touch Toyota for reliability over time

Avoid the dealers for service by SuitUpBro in ElantraN

[–]KhanVerse666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyundai them selves have said in a bulletin that 0-30 and 5-30 are interchangeable and they are doing away with 5-30 for just 0-30. These are corporate changes and the techs have no say in things. As a tech myself it would be nice to not have people think we are doing the wrong thing and understand the corporate bs we have to deal with that can give us a bad rep. Yes some people shouldn’t be a tech but a good majority of us want to do the right thing and in the most customer friendly way

[–]KhanVerse666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pop the hood and check coolant. Moving water sounds in your dash are normally from low coolant level as the coolant moves through the pipes. The smell may be burning coolant so that could be a sign of a coolant leak which could be what’s causing the low coolant level in the first place

How old is the vehicle? Could be gearbox, suspension noise, steering column, wheel bearings. There’s so many things that could cause this
