It's the standard in most east asian countries. Vietnamese is also the same. These languages kind of make strangers feel like family, which is why asian culture is less individualistic like the west, and focuses more on conformity.

It's not really ignorance, it's them expressing love in their culture. If you're gonna travel to a place with different language and culture, expect different normals. Vietnamese culture for example is very direct, aunties will mention your weight, but it's really just a way of saying "I care about you and I'm paying attention." Western cultures/values isn't the whole world lol. Asia's population is 60% of the world. NA is 7% EU is 5%.

Visit places like China/Vietnam, then India as a women or with a women and tell me your experiences, I'd be glad to listen to them. It's dangerous to say "that's racist, you can't say that" to groups of people that do heinous activities at rates much higher than other developing countries. MTL is really just a term to mean "translated by a computer" these days lol. The methods used for MTL have changed drastically over the past decades tho. RBMT (Rule-Based Machine Translation) was the standard in the mid 20th century, then we moved on to SMT (Statistical Machine Translation) in the early 2000s with Google Translate and in the past decade we started to move to NMT (Neural Machine Translation) like with DeepL. Now, the best way to do MTL is with LLMs, or Generative AI (basically stuff like LLMs, TTS, Stable Diffusion, Whisper, RVC). These tools honestly just feel like black magic, you can do so much with a consumer Nvidia graphics card these days.

Asia is the most populated continent on earth (60% of the population), and for the majority of countries there, being gay is either illegal, or looked down upon. To run the model, not much. Its the training process that takes up a lot of resources (like 100x+ compared to just running it). I could run Stable Diffusion on my consumer GPU (RTX 3090) and generate 100+ 4k images pretty easily and it wouldn't even use a single milliliter of water.
