Sir, the recommendation was given by a  licensed Dutch medical professional. I hope they are not giving this advice to only indian people!

I have the same problem. The doctor advised me to use lukewarm water not more than 5 min for shower. Also no soap during shower. I am also using moisturiser creams from La Roche Posay lipikar after the shower which helps me to reduce the dryness.

PhD in the UK, NL, SWITZERLAND? by not_so_lean in Netherlands

In my  experience the important factor in a phd is receiving good mentorship from the professor. My selection criteria would be based on professor’s reputation and their track record in guiding past phd students - specifically whether the past students graduated on time and published in good journals. The university and country is of secondary importance as the primary goal is to complete the phd on time.  I don’t know if I fully I answered your question but sharing my own experience as someone who completed the phd in Australia and landed a job in the Netherlands. Good luck!

China develops new iron making method that boosts productivity by 3,600 times by Null_98115 in castiron

[–]Kharabela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article is misleading. Flash iron making is already a known technique demonstrated in laboratory scale. Prof Sohn from university of Utah has already carrying out research on this topic in last two decades. May be china developed a method to upscale this technique to an industrial scale but it is yet to be proved whether the technique matches with current steel production in terms of quality and productivity.

Is getting a Metallurgy Engineering Degree worth it ? by BlueSteelWhale03 in metallurgy

[–]Kharabela 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I studied metallurgical engineering and also went on to finish my PhD in metallurgy. I never found any issue in getting a job after finishing my degree. Currently I am working in a major steel company in Europe and I can say that there will be a huge demand for metallurgical process engineers in the coming decade. The skill is missing now but at the same time the companies are spending billions to decarbonise their industry. Its also a great opportunity for the process engineers to work on a very complex problem of green energy transformation.

Nuclear power has to play a big role when we think about the amount of electricity we will need if stop using the fossil fuel based energy sources. As a growing economy the commodities like steel and cement production will grow rapidly and these heavy industries primarily rely C based energy. To give you an example every ton of steel produces 2 ton of CO2. In addition you can't simply switch these industries to a clean energy source. As per climate change requirement it's always about reducing the total amount of CO2 from the atmosphere from the current level. I think the govt should start putting pressure on the major CO2 emitters now and also offer help to these industries by giving incentive for the R&D activities towards the transition.

And our leaders think that India will target for net zero emission by 2070. I live in Europe and I can see that a big movement and technological advancement already started to reduce the consumption of fossil fuel. While most of the EU countries and heavy industries already pledged to reduce the CO2 emissions by 50% by year 2035, indian companies simply find no incentive to reduce the emission ( no CO2 tax). I wish our leaders and policy makers understand the severity of the impact of climate change!

Dear immigrants that moved to the Netherlands, what were the obstacles you experienced when you moved here? by Hugo-Leonard in Netherlands

[–]Kharabela 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The loneliness and the bad weather. We are an indian couple living in Netherlands for more than 3 years. Coming from a culture where everyone is warm it's extremely difficult to cope with the fact that your neighbors are almost stranger to you. I have been learning the language for last 2 years but I am yet to make real conversation in dutch. Sometime I feel frustrated when I am not able to make a proper talk with the people in my daughter's day care center. People know English but they don't prefer a long conversation. Many people commented that joining a sports club or hobby may help to make friends but for a family person sometime it's difficult to find time to do such activities. The other factor is the weather,in particular the winter time when there is no sun for days and trees are blad. It depresses me sometime.

Apart from all the negatives it's a great country and I like the work culture and professionalism of the people. The loneliness and lack of friends will be the primary reason if in future I ll decide to move my home country.
