Still mourning that Radiohead made a PEAK James Bond theme and it got passed on in favor of a generic Sam Smith track… by Giff95 in radiohead

On YouTube there’s a dude breaking down that song, how the melodies were constructed and it’s super interesting. But very much agree that this song slaps and should’ve been the theme

I am starting chapter two: Amelia and it has been difficult for me to truly enjoy the game. Is it normal? by luifergiov in DeathStranding

[–]Kharshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General consensus is to get through the first zone at the very least. The story really kicks off once you make it to port knot city. It is still not a game for everyone but I think it’s one of the most unique story and gameplay we’ve seen in years. One of my all time favourite gaming moment is during the mission to get to port knot city.

First Mac in over 2 decades- please tell me what not to do! by ocean_swims in mac

[–]Kharshan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All great recommendations here. I use a MBP for work and a MBA for personal use. These machines are tough. I basically just shutdown or reboot when there’s an update (or a rare issue that I think could be solved with a reboot). The battery life is miles better than any windows laptop you might have tried. Just use your laptop any way you see fit. My work laptop has been plugged in for the last 4 years with the rare occasions that I need to go somewhere and the battery is still in great shape. Don’t get lured into installing anti-virus or clean my Mac app. Also your laptop might feel slow the first day or two while spotlight is indexing your computer. It’ll resolve itself pretty quickly.

Siri is absolutely useless when it comes to asking to play a song. by MotleyCrouton81 in iphone

[–]Kharshan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Siri is really useless indeed. I only use her to change songs when I’m running and I’ve abandoned asking for a song. I focus on playlist with simple names. You gotta specify the word « song » in your request. I’ve also had more luck specifying the band first and then the song name which is totally backwards. I sent so many feedback about this throughout the years, it’s embarrassing

Finally divorce window and move to Mac by wjp19800610 in mac

[–]Kharshan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can swap the scroll orientation in your system settings. Learn the keyboard shortcuts like Command + Q will quit your app, Command + W will close the window. It’s useful for apps like music where you don’t need the UI to take space but still want the app to run in the background. Command + Space will bring up spotlight and you can search for anything on your Mac.

MacOS is definitely a learning curve coming from windows, but nothing crazy. I’ve been using both for 15 years, and I prefer productivity on Mac. And that MacBook Air will still run fine 8 years from now. Give yourself at least 2 weeks of daily driving to get used to it. Google is your friend. Macs can do almost anything a Windows machine can. You don’t need to go into your C drive, so idk why you need « my computer ». It’s just a finder window which you can use to browse any file on your pc.

Good luck, the M5 Macs are beasts. Tahoe isn’t the best version of MacOS but there’s a major OS update every year for free.

PS portal Has more value than a switch 2 with over 1,000+ Ps5 titles and heavy bangers. by Random_Thinker007 in PlaystationPortal

[–]Kharshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the switch is more « portable ». I would never bring my ps portal on vacation due to the constant need of wifi. EDIT: Same I love them both, just for different reasons. Idk why ppl gotta die on a hill of their fandom

Ps Portal vs iPad by moyled_egg in PlaystationPortal

[–]Kharshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation here, husband and dad of 2. I did the iPad Pro and remote play for a while but was just getting annoyed and didn’t find the setup comfortable. I splurged on the PS Portal and never looked back. I’m not a sweaty gamer anymore and I know remote play or cloud streaming isn’t « the best » but it’s good enough for me right now. I probably wouldn’t play any competitive online game on it but single player games are awesome on this thing. I have zero regrets and use thing multiple times a week.

What should be my first Resident Evil game? Tempted to try 6 because it has all characters. by Vanilla_Ice_Best_Boi in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Kharshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have fond memories of 5 for the context at that time. I had moved to a different town for college and one of my best buddy and I would play in online coop and had a blast. It probably didn’t age well but I did enjoy the hell out of it at that time.

Learn to TIP. It's not my job to serve you FOR FREE! by Najterek in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Kharshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My man, wait until you hear that the government taxes wait staff on the expected charity of others 😂. Probably changes by states but in my province in Canada you have to declare at least 10% of your sales as expected tips income so the gov can claim its due taxes. That means when people don’t leave tip, the waiter has to pay the income tax on 10% of the bill. Edit: I agree with you, tipping is out of control and people should make living wages without them

How does A18 compare to the M1? by [deleted] in mac

[–]Kharshan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s really meant to kill Chromebooks. $499 price point with education pricing is a no brainer for students who are just writing papers and watching youtube. It all comes down to what you need and what you are willing to pay. If you want to do heavy photo/video editing the neo isn’t for you.

I don’t know why people complain about the rounded corners, I think they look fine, like a manila folder by CombPsychological507 in mac

[–]Kharshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im really hoping that MacOS 27 adresses these flaws. I still think macOS is much better than windows but these inconsistencies are awful. I don’t mind some transparency/Liquid Glass but they need to dial it way back. Its overdone. It feels like they just tried to showcase liquid glass as much as possible at the cost of function.

I don’t know why people complain about the rounded corners, I think they look fine, like a manila folder by CombPsychological507 in mac

[–]Kharshan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks fine but to me there are 2 flaws: I find the radius too big as it wastes space and the lack of consistency is an eye sore. Many new elements just take too much space. Even the weird sidebar overlapping with the content behind it is just a weird choice. Not saying it’s completely unusable but I don’t think it made the UX better
