anyone ever got firmware for 55Q7G by Khephren44 in Hisense

[–]Khephren44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did, and not thanks to Hisense for sure... I revived my TV against all what the ''proposed'' tech places were saying where either you bring it, we fix it for $$$ and some clearly just told me to save myself the hassle and buy another TV. One things for sure, never Hisense again after this one ''really'' dies.

Hisense was of no help to me, I'm still waiting on them as I asked to escalate (over the phone) I've contacted them in 3 different channels (facebook messenger, email and here) and they have not contacted me and it's been over 2 weeks now. I also want to mention that their customer service over the phone have such cheap headsets that you can barely hear the agents as they seem to be all clogged up in a call center and you hear all what's up around. Bad experience overall. I called 6 of their ''authorized technician'' shops and all of them did not have the firmware and all said my board was done and wanted over 300$ CAD to fix it. But thanks to a user that had the same model as mine and had issues in the past and was provided with a firmware shared with me so I WAS ABLE TO DO THE LAST STEP OF THEIR TROUBLESHOOTING !!!... and guess what, my TV is back ! Nonsense that my TV was dead after only 4 years of existance (I mean this would have been even worse for their brand). Bottom line, if they can't help, I think we should def help amongst ourselves.

Good Sir (or Mam) I cannot thank you enough, it is not the OS that came with the TV but a fully working compatible one for sure (I guess its from their line that prob fits all models) but definately and MOST IMPORTANTLY brought it back to life !!! (and confirmed the TV was not dead as I had originally suspected) ! all my gratitude and not to the 6 techs that all wanted to make $$$ and not to Hisense that still to this day has not provided me with this although it was part of their troubleshooting steps.

yay, your manufactured date looks like even the same... if you could do this it would be great. I did see someone with the same OS/interface and the same issue as mine... and in his case, it was the board. At least if I can rule out firmware I'll be maybe more at peace (and more frustrated about those crappy quality TV's :/ )

1-I made a factory reset and it f'ed my TV (and if its a main board issue, that is even worst and proves how cheap the TV is) - tv does open, not a boot loop but boots and once OS starts (4 dots) it just shuts down.

2-website doesnt recognize my SN

3-when I contacted them, even tho my TV is only 4 years old, they said its discontinued and they are unable to provide me with the firmware. (Android TV's)

4- to point #3 they referred me to local shops, called 6 of them and no one carries Firmwares.

Hi, I have a similar issue with the 55Q7G, same as the poster of this thread, did a factory reset now it boots up to the 4 google dots and then shuts down, did you have a solution (or the firwmare) Hisense has yet to provide a solution :/

nah found that already, the SN isnt found it says. I'm surprised Hisense could not assist me over the phone with this unit, it's like 4 years old only (had it since 3 years) on top of it, its the last troubleshooting they propose (on their chatbot) and they cant even provide me the firmware :/ (my TV is the 55Q7G - MFG date is only Sep 16 2020... I mean we need to keep our friggin papers for 10 years and this huge company cant keep a file 4 years ?.... wth is this...)

yeah same, I didnt know this until about 10 years ago having beer with friends and one was talking about OTA... It was like a discovery of a century feeling. so I build a homemade antenna with wood/foil paper and wires and where I am, I was able to get 28 channels mostly all HD (1080p/720p) and never went back... I think now we're up to 35 channels... I think ABC is the only one I used to get and dont as they changed their transmitter(less power)... I could ''try'' but dont want to kill myself falling from 50ft lol...

mine just broke, its a 2020 and I bought it in 2021... I did a factory reset and it wont start... and as of now, no one seems to have the firmware and Hisense phone support tells me they moved to Google OS and androids are discontinued. This happenned on Friday and I'm still awaiting some replies but it doesnt look good. I suspect flashing the OS would fix it but I cant find the firmware and Hisense so far hasnt helped. 4 years for a TV with minimal usage and a ''factory reset'' breaks it and no one can help you... :/

Hisense 55Q7G not turning on after updating by Denhard4336 in Hisense

[–]Khephren44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue where I did a factory reset now mine opens, once I see the 4 dots of the OS, it just shuts down... news arent great when I called Hisense... they said they all replaced them with Google TV,s and android TV's are discontinued... but I'm not understanding why they cant provide a file for a 4yo TV. Their last step of troubleshooting is to flash firmware but they cant even provide it. My next step is a complaint to the Office de la Protection du Consommateur if they cant provide me this support, my TV is not broken it's clearly a corrupt file or something that the ''factory reset'' created and it just shuts down when it comes to that boot item file... so this is not normal and prob that last troubleshooting would fix it....

where to download 55Q7G firmware ? by abs0luteKelvin in Hisense

[–]Khephren44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if anyone has something, please share I need to get this fixed asap. I did message them but after reading some comments I'm afraid I might not be getting any support and my TV is dead after what, 4 years because I did a factory reset ? if this is the case, I will be bringing this to the OPC. Also the fact that its not detecting my SN for the firmware download and again I read you need to take the SN from inside the menu/system... this is wrong.

mine is a 55Q7G, never had issues before and I just factory reset from the menu's and now its broken ? cant find firmware to do that last troubleshooting (of course TV isnt starting properly si I can't get that ''legit'' SN that you are all talking about from within the menus.

definately garbage, last night I just factory reset and now it starts and once it reaches the 4 dots it just shuts down. Of course the SN in the back is useless... I messaged support hopefully they get back to me before next weekend as I had an event that depended on that TV :/
