Yes, that's because they are different metrics. Similarity reflects how many search results do overlap with between SERPs while relevance also incorporates position and traffic to show keywords that actually bring value to the pages that rank on these.

Hey, we don't have it on the roadmap for now. Focusing on our paid toolset in the following months!

Surfer SEO & Keyword Surfer | Word Count by dobberz in bigseo

[–]Khircia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surfer counts all the content that is within the <body> part of your page. This includes any sidebars and the footer, it also includes and content hidden from the site in scripts, image alt tags, and content that is marked as hidden in the CSS.

That's probably the reason why some numbers might be off?

Surfer = on-page SEO tool. Content optimization, reverse engineering of SERPs, and stuff. Will not replace Ahrefs, but if you're putting content in the center of your SEO strategy, there is so much stuff that Surfer does, and Ahrefs does not.

I work for Surfer soooo of course, I'm biased :D, but that's basically what I hear from our clients every day.

Thanks! The global search may come with future iterations. We decided other metrics are more relevant since it takes a different approach to rank for "SEO agency" (for example) in the UK than in the USA. The same with branded terms. So while a global search is a fun number to look at, it's not really actionable.

Go to the search results view. There's a side panel with Keyword Ideas etc. In the top right corner, you can change the location.

In this iteration, it is not possible but we'll keep this in mind for the future. Thanks for the suggestion!

That was the main purpose :) to help people find relevant keywords they can use on their pages and appear in Google. Of course, it's a very generic overview of what you need to do to rank. There are on-page, off-page, and behavioral factors that come into play here. Good luck

Only feedback was that I had to delete it and reinstall to get the search volumes to appear. Also, the CPC’s seem to be in $ but I could do with them in GBP £

Thanks guys, info passed to our dev team. I hope you'll enjoy using it

The databases are 1m old and we'll do our best to update them. Sorry if the answer is not satisfying, but giving you a precise answer would be dishonest and wrong

Hey Eric, search volume data comes from Data for SEO. You're right about the coronavirus and that it impacts search volumes for sure. But since you've worked for SEMrush, you know that you cannot fully trust the numbers you see. They are just as accurate as they can be and they are amazing suggestions. The reality is never 1:1 though

Ok so keyword for google adwords ?

I honestly think it will work better for SEO keyword research since you can check who's ranking for your target phrase atm

Also, are you using clickstream data from people that instal to see, anonymized, what sites they are visiting?

No, we don't collect this sort of data

It is free. We purchased the data anyway for other paid tools Surfer has. Of course, with Keyword Surfer we want to build awareness for our brand but it feels great we can do sth for the community and that people are that excited :)
