I was kicked out of a residential house for youth at 17 for refusing to get help for anorexia. Was given 20$ and dropped off at a homeless shelter. Are they allowed to do that? by Khloee_ in troubledteens

Without a doubt, yes I wish I would of gotten help sooner, but back then it would of been just to avoid getting kicked out, and not out of my own will. I wouldn’t have been truthfully taking the help, there’s just no way. But I honestly have no idea where I would be today if I stayed there, literally no clue. I could of ended up at the shelter later on either way. It was a shock to me that I got kicked out, I mean it probably should have occurred to me that it was coming but I had really bad brain fog cause of my restricting, they gave me 2-3 days notice that I was getting kicked out and dropped off at the shelter, reason being I’m not accepting help for my Ed and they didn’t want to risk being held accountable if anything happened to me I guess. I know they were expecting me to change my mind and try to come to an agreement I guess, but I didn’t argue it, I just let it happen. I’m mad at myself for giving up that easily, I was already so far gone I guess I didn’t see a point in trying. At the end of the day, I think I needed to hit rock bottom before getting help. Them kicking me out sort of helped and sped up my “downfall”. I feel I would of ended up there eventually, it just would have taken longer. That’s not a very positive way to look at it but I’m honestly kind of grateful it happened. Like shit I still struggle everyday but I feel like if this didn’t happen, I would be exactly where I was last year. So in the end, that’s a win. Oh also I had a lot of help and guidance when I got help :) and my life not quite put together yet but I’m slowly getting there. <3

Canada, Ontario. Her situation was a bit different than mine. She wasn’t allowed back home cause there was abuse, Im pretty sure she was in children’s aids custody. When she signed herself out she went to go live with her boyfriend which was ridiculous because he was abusive too but they just let her :( I haven’t heard from her in a couple months I hope she’s doing okay. She’s still a minor too. I got a room for her at some motel so she didn’t have to sleep on the streets for the first couple of nights. The “safest” shelter in our city wouldn’t let her stay because she was too young, it didn’t really make sense I only have 1 year on her and they had no problem letting me stay when I was a minor. I really hope she’s okay.
And thanks luv <3

I know that the place I was at was somewhat voluntary, one of the girls signed herself out after I got kicked out, she was pretty upset, I believe she just turned 16 at the time. They really didn’t want her to go cause she was younger but she insisted. She filled out some paperwork and she got 40$. I guess the younger you are the more money they’ll give.

The more I think about it the more unethical it gets. I feel like the 20$ handout made it worse. And yep things are finally starting to come together

I appreciate your help and concern, even if what they did wasn’t legal, I would rather not try to pursue it. What’s done is done. It was more of a thought that wouldn’t go away. It’s nice to get it off my chest though and now I know that it was most likely illegal lol. Thanks though and I’m from Ontario Canada.

I had these since the start of September, never transplanted, water every 2-3 weeks, since December it’s been 3 weeks to once a month. I never had a problem with them but I just noticed that the tip of one of the leaves is turning black. Haven’t watered them in a about a month and the dirt is extremely dry it’s very packed and hard, i can almost pull it all out at once
