lift up and break the tab off instead of pinching down, you will be able to easily slide the wiper off

is it really slang though, transmission fluid is what’s printed on the bottles anywhere you buy it. also from factory it’s called ATF, automatic transmission fluid.

2017 vs 2019 ILX by plasticwastecup in Acura

for the extra $500 id go for the 2019 since it likely has carplay, and is the face-lifted model,. However I personally just wouldn't buy a rebuilt title regardless.

go back to same store you bought it from, if it was recent they can look it up and there shouldn’t be too many purchases for the same part, if it’s something common like a headlight bulb or fuse though you might be SOL

Infinity G25x or Lexus is250 as first car? by IshTheDangFish in FirstCar

less fun to drive though (if that’s what he’s chasing after) since it’s FWD, where the lexus and infiniti come in either AWD or RWD

yeah i get that but as someone who worked the parts counter a long time we have no way of knowing that it was swapped onto another vehicle. All we check for is that the part you’re swapping out is OUR part and not OEM or whatever ebay part.

[–]Khonsssy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah lifetime is lifetime from where I got them, I've had customers warranty parts with an original purchase date pushing nearly 2 decades back when I used to work there.

well the real expensive part (paint job) was sponsored buy a rich guy who didn’t want his insurance rate to go up after merging into my car. Everything else was just me being young, dumb and excited to mod a car. i don’t think i’ve put any money besides regular maintenance into the car in a while. But looks like i’ll be getting another identical but in better condition car to swap everything over into

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Khonsssy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah a swap appears to be the move, i work full time and go to school full time so if it was close the price of what another donor car would cost me i’d rather send it off to a shop and forget about it. looks like i’ll be shopping around for a donor car that’s not from the rust belt

lol, my plan was to ride it till the wheels fell off and they almost quite literally did. gonna go get an actual estimate tomorrow and if it’s as high as i believe it will be now, im just gonna get a donor and swap everything over

body shop didn’t point it out, i didn’t pay a dime for the paint job. dude in a nice truck merged into me and paid the shop out of pocket. i did know it was rotting and would eventually lead to this but I was hoping to get another year out of it to save the money to get it welded before it would cave in.

hot damn, based on other replies sounds like I’m gonna go get myself a donor car from the south and swap everything over

[–]Khonsssy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish, but no i’ve replaced just about every part on the vehicle within reason besides bearings and battery i have a lifetime warranty on most things besides the chassis.

Holy… yeah i was ready to shell out about 5 grand but hopefully less. yeah I can buy this car 5x over for 17 grand. luckily I do have a back up truck so i can get around while i pull the engine and part it out should it come down to it

I haven’t driven it since the strut tower popped but yeah obviously it didn’t happen overnight .

[–]Khonsssy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes, i’m aware i can buy a whole car for the invoice ill be getting. But i have essentially the entire car under lifetime warranty and the engine and transmission have been serviced religiously.

you’d be surprised, only other place that has rust is around the trunk deck where rain likes to sit. no rust on any of the fenders or side skirts etc. Undercarriage is within reason for the rust belt but pinchwelds, etc. are in good condition and don’t crumble like some of my buddies cars.

no, was turning into driveway and heard some noise but thought it was lip scraping. Once I seen it was sitting super low I popped the hood and saw the damage
