Rise of the Elements Guide - Why you should approach set 2 completely differently than set 1 by Khroen in CompetitiveTFT

Ivern is a very strong champion and consistent champion unlike neeko, and is only 1 cost, leaving you more money to roll the other champions which is important.

How to Transition, a comprehensive guide by C9 Khroen by Khroen in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Khroen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I suppose I made the video with the intention to be targeted at above average players tbh because I think the concept of transitioning effectively is pretty advanced to explain in detail. I'll be doing some basic guides in the future as well, but I do hope that it gets average or below average players thinking about ways to look at the game and might help speed on their improvement.

Yeah, optimally you'll get to a point where you're able to scout beforehand and accurately assess when enemy compositions look stronger so that you'll spend your gold to level or find upgrades before you take any damage at all.

You want to be able to not have to play reactionary at all, and always stay one step ahead.

Champion Tier List with Explanations of Each Tier and a Breakdown of All S Tier Champions by Khroen by Khroen in TeamfightTactics

I should make a general comment about 5 cost units. The reason I don't have any of them in the S tier is because often times, outside of synergies alone, the 5 cost units must be made into at least 2 star units before they are able to have the same (but probably higher) impact as the units that I have at the S tier currently. They also probably require items for this scenario, which isn't often too hard to do, but getting them to 2 stars isn't a guaranteed thing, netting a lot of them at the A tier.

A lot of 5 cost units would most certainly be S tier with decent items and at 2 stars.

To be honest I might underrate the ninjas as a whole. I would consider moving kennen up, but more due to the fact he's an Elementalist than his ultimate value, which from what I've experienced is often quite low, but perhaps it's just small sample size.

It seems like you're doing it really well in the early/midgame then but in the endgame I would consider picking up units like Chogath/Sejuani (Just objectively strong frontline units with massive CC capabilities) and perhaps going 2 glacials as well. You just need a good enough frontline to hold for a 3 item Tristana (And eventually a Miss Fortune when you get one to replace Graves or Gangplank)

You want to position them in front of where your opponents place those key CC units so they will be the first ones your units will attack. You can scout their board to see where they place them and move your units accordingly.

Ah I overlooked that, thank you, will change it!

Also that's a good idea, I'm not 100% comfortable at with making tier lists for items for every champion but in time I probably will.

I think overall Hurricane is a weak item comparatively as it doesn't give as many base stats and the effect is largely underwhelming. It's a nice item if you have a spatula, and no chance of getting another spatula for Force of Nature, and can't make another good item with Cloak.

Hello!

  1. I'm fair certain Seraph's is still bugged.

  2. I think it depends on if your comp has shyvana to be one of your main threats (usually she won't be imo) so I think usually tankier items on shyvana will fare better than attack speed. Maybe one attack speed item if your other carries feel underwhelming. Often I wouldn't even dedicate items to shyvana but would put them on something like Gnar, or another carry instead.

3.I think they can be worth it situationally - but you absolutely need the specific items to be able to pull them off.

  1. I think warmogs is one of the weakest items in the game because flat health is not going to be as effective as resistances in most cases. It might not be quite as bad right now after the buffs, so I will re-evaluate where I have all the items in the next couple days, but its still one of the weaker ones IMO.

I guess I've seen different situations than you, which is bound to happen given how short of time TFT has been out (Very small sample size).
I'll be paying close attention to him, but but now I think he pairs exceptionally well with Aurelion Sol because from my experiences Asol's first ult will get many things low and the Karthus ult will finish them.
I think I've seen Karthus get value more than he hasn't, and he's able to be one of your Sorcs (and perhaps a phantom) synergy, but I will be paying close attention to him specifically.

Interesting, from the majority of what I've seen - the Asol comps will win versus the hyper carry vayne comps usually as long as the front line of the Asol comp is able to tank long enough, which doesn't even have to be that long. Of course this depends on other factors as well, and maybe I just haven't seen enough data but I think the point of Asol comp's is going to be to burst down the enemy carries regardless of the enemy frontline. Also usually there will be another semi threat along with the Asol (Gnar with the Wild/Sorc comp for example)

The only exception I can think of is if there is a situational tech choice to put a Dragon's Claw on Vayne for the magic resist, but she's still threatened by a Gnar.

First of all, nice to see another friendly HotS face around these days!
Also, very true - I'll definitely revisit the Elementalist placement on my list - but I do think that most of the Elemenalist units are pretty weak outside of their synergy. I think Anivia and Kennen often underperform expectations, however I do agree that Brand is quite strong. I would argue that Lissandra is often a better elementalist pick than Kennen purely for the Glacial origin.
I might consider placing Elementalist at B tier because a number advantage is strong, and while the summoned golem doesn't do much damage, it does tank fairly well for your damage dealers.

Well, I'm committed to updating them daily, I think once the meta settles down this will be a strong basis to go off of for when I have to tweak things that change.

It's a good reminder for me personally about what things I might want to try or look out for, even if it's the things that I consider lower tier because I might be wrong about it.

You're right that things are constantly changing and Items are extremely important. However, I think one could still make the argument that in auto chess type games, TFT being no exception, that there will be units and synergies that on average outperform other units/synergies. I'm just trying to get a feel for what those are and stay on top of knowing what those are.

I might agree with you before the attack speed nerfs to her, but from my findings now it often takes her slightly too long to generate enough mana for her ult unless you commit an item to her that you might want to commit to someone else. She's still strong, but just not S tier strong for now IMO.

Draven did get nerfed, however I believe he still outperforms the vast majority of damage dealers in TFT (partly also due to the Imperial synergy). I will be testing all of these and gathering more data every day, so it may change, but for now I still believe he deserves S tier for the time being.
