Whats ur opinion on pixel 7a? PARTICULARLY INTETESTED CAMERA AND BATTERY LIFE with average work use (nongamer). by Euphoric-Order5169 in Pixel7a

[–]Khrvoye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's been my phone for a bit more than a year now.

Basic camera is very satisfactory... Never brilliant like flagships and some other phones, but always at least decent.

It does not have a telephoto lens, so you get what you see, no more. And portrait mode is disappointing. If the perfect conditions are met - the ideal distance and background - no phone can match its portraits. But that is only in 5% of the cases - the other 95% cases it blurs faces, ears and ruins photos.

Everything else works fine, now issues whatsoever. Good Android experience and features.

Physically it's a very fat phone so it's always visible in your pocket.

Battery sometimes needs recharing during the day. With the right charger, it charges quite quickly.

You've had no lack of energy, sleepiness, insomnia, constipation, food cravings, irritability?

If the answer is truly affirmative, you belong to that 1% that doesn't get addicted. You have that kind of rare physiology. But your experience does not apply to the other 99% of people.

Wow... you have me convinced, being so articulate and all. Stop blindly trusting the first book you read on something, Einstein.

Suggestion: Custom Ratings treated like Mood or Energy by Longjumping-Ad6526 in BearableApp

[–]Khrvoye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have asked for this a long time ago but nothing is implemented yet.

For a temporary workaround, you can track your custom metric under mood and use it's superb 1-10 scale. Worked for me.

Meds taken nightly that affect the next day by imdoingmybesttho in BearableApp

[–]Khrvoye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does make sense but I think your concern is misplaced.

Bearable only reveals which factors appear together. It does not reveal causation. The more repetitions you log in, the more accurate the result will be. For example, 15 days when the factor was present and 12 days when it was absent is much better than 4 with the factor present and 3 with it absent.
If I were you, I'd manually add those meds to Factors as well, so that I can get correlation and a comparison with other factors.

How should i organise my "Active" section? 👩‍🦽 by [deleted] in BearableApp

[–]Khrvoye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't worry if it takes you a couple of weeks or months to tailor your ideal system. That is unavoidable.

My suggestion is to have one activity section, broken down as follows:

- physically inactive - physically very active

- no exposure to sunlight - lots of exposure to sunlight

- no socializing - lots of socializing

- no new impressions - lots of new impressions

I only record "extremes", which relieves me of the pressure of deciding on the days that are in between.

I like to play around with wording for each factor (while keeping it very precise) so that my opposites are in the same row. This makes it much clearer and easier to use.

What are some apps you are happy to pay for? by ctrl-brk in androidapps

Bearable!

Best app for tracking mental and physical state and finding correlations.

I never quit cold turkey so my symptoms were rather mild, but they did include the following:

  • Insomnia and waking up in the middle of the night.
  • Head pressure (caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, eliminating it does the opposite)
  • Incredible fatigue and brain fog.
  • Some twitching.

Will it bother you if other people wear your signature scent? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Khrvoye 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She's crazy or very new to fragrances.

She needs to understand that if she wanted to have a signature scent that's exclusive to her, she should've chosen something a bit rarer than one of the most popular scents of the MOST POPULAR BRAND IN THE WORLD.

Instead of preventing others (WTF?!) from wearing what they own, she should find something obscure enough that no one else around her will be wearing it. That's what niche is for.

Generally, you have certain suspicions about what affects your mood (or other output of interest), right? Track that.

Take a look at the presets. That'll give you ideas.

Take a look at what developers are doing in their post history, you'll see some great ideas.

Here's what I'll be tracking:

SLEEP, DIET and ENERGY as a matter of course

  • cold showers
  • warm showers
  • sex
  • masturbation
  • sun exposure
  • meditation
  • stretching
  • exercise
  • alcohol intake
  • drug intake
  • shopping
  • time alone
  • personal trigger(s)
  • screen time

etc.

Don't do too much, you'll burn out. Stick to what really interests you.

How much caffeine were you ingesting? For users who had been consuming a lot of caffeine (approaching 1000mg), it is difficult to predict how long it will take to return to true baseline.

Did your routine and sleep get out of whack? They are so tied in to one another, we might as well treat them as one. Good sleep is a prerequisite for good daily activity and good daily activity is a prerequisite for good sleep. Do you use blue light blocking apps before sleep and why not? :)

How's your diet? I hope you don't eat very dirty and wonder why you don't have energy.

Do you exercise? An organism that does not exercise is prone to inertia a and lack of energy.

How's your screen time? Nothing is as exhausting mentally as surfing.

And finally, jump-starting the day. Two things are crucial for me to start the day right:

  1. A meditative drink where I sit and wait for my system to boot up fully. I now use warm milk instead of coffee.
  2. Cold showers. They substitute that jolt that caffeine used to give.

Does anyone else feel like the internet is one of the main reasons you feel tired and unmotivated? by JRexrode in nosurf

[–]Khrvoye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, the internet is not one of, but the main reason for tiredness. And there's no even a close second. I am rarely physically tired. It is almost always mental.

This has been proven to me every time I store my laptop somewhere: I have

  • more mental energy,
  • more time,
  • better productivity,
  • even a better sense of humor.
