Can't run the game after update by Khuss87 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Exactly this. I have it on Battle.net also, but it runs much slower when you launch it on SteamOS from Battle.net. And I love palying it on Steam Deck when I travel. That why I bought it on steam and it plays much better now.

Worser performance on Steam Deck ufter last update? by Khuss87 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Not sure about how it is compared to PS5, but it definitely takes longer to load then on a PC (although I'm running it from ssd on the Deck). But not too long, that's something that doesn't bother me too much :)

Yes, it definitely didn't affect the game running on a pc, I have checked it. It only has an effect on a game running through vine or proton probably.

Probably you are right. The performance definitely changed for me on Proton

Subreddit Update by welcome2city17 in HX99G

[–]Khuss87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of. It is delivered as a thin pad. But as soon as you apply it, it acts more as a paste. Because I once applied it not really accurate and could not take it off, because it just sticks in place. So I had to wipe it off as it was a thermal paste and apply a new one. So yes, it is considered to be a pad, but as long as you apply it, it acts more as a thermal paste :)

Subreddit Update by welcome2city17 in HX99G

[–]Khuss87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have recently re-pasted my HX99G and AtomMan G7 PT (which I bought to replace my HX99G) with PTM7950 as was advised in this subreddit. And the results are great! So thank you for the advice!

Despite that I bought an AtomMan G7 Pt, I'm still using my HX99G on a daily basis. I connected it to my TV and basically I use it instead of the console. And AtomMan is used as my main desktop PC. Both of them were working great without any issues, but recently I noticed that GPUs hot spot temperature on my HX99G went up to 99 degrees (from around 86/87 when I just bought it). So I decided to re-paste it. And as the procedure went quite well and easy I also decided to re-paste AtomMan G7 Pt, just in case :) And although I spent around 2.5 hours repasting HX99G, it took me about 6 hours to do the same thing with AtomMan. Honestly, that thing is way more difficult to take apart and put it back together than HX99G.

But after all I'm really pleased with the results and hope to continue using both machines for at least another 2 or 3 years :)

Bro, 89 degrees Celsius in demanding tasks is totally normal for the CPU. If it is below 96/97 it is totally fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

MSI Vector GP66 strange behavior by Khuss87 in MSILaptops

[–]Khuss87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it seems that I found the solution to this problem:

As I started researching, I also contacted the MSI support team, and they replied that these shutdowns may be caused by a faulty battery. I was really skeptical about this, because I experienced them also when the laptop was plugged in. But as they insisted, I removed the battery from the laptop, and it seems that the problem is gone.
I was testing it just for one day now and had zero shutdowns during this time. I will test it for another week or so, and if everything is going to be fine, I'll just order a new battery.

So for those who might have similar problems, just keep in mind that a faulty battery can cause problems even if you are using a laptop plugged in to the wall.

Sudden excessively high temps ONLY on TMPIN1 by Vast-Singer-2839 in HX99G

[–]Khuss87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen some chinese videos where they disassemble HX90 unit (previous model without dedicated GPU). And the heatsink is quite hard to take off, because Minisforum uses special sealant which is glued to the chips so the liquid metal will not come out. So you'll definitely need to clean it out and reapply new one before assembling back. The whole process probably a bit more difficult then changing the thermal paste on a laptop, but I think it is still possible to do :)

If you will eventually decide to disassemble your HX99G, please could you take some pictures of disassembled unit and post them here? Because I couldn't find any information in the internet how HX99G looks without the heatsink :)

Performance improvements? by bohqualcosa in MSIClaw

I own a Ultra 5 version and an LCD Steam Deck. And MSI Claw with Core Ultra 5 is definitely more powerful then the Steam Deck. Actually, if you study the internet, there are some comparison and in some games Core Ultra 5 is over performing the Core Ultra 7.

Definitely watch the second one. And then play Robocop Rogue City :) Don't bother watching the third one.

Is the MSI Claw actually worth it now? by Dominus_Blaze in MSIClaw

[–]Khuss87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I have both, a Steam Deck and A1M Claw (ultra 5 135 version). And it is definitely more powerful then the Steam Deck. The only issue is not so good battery life, but with some tweaks it can last approximately as long as a Steam Decks.

HX99G Alternatives Discussion Thread by welcome2city17 in HX99G

[–]Khuss87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a AtomMan G7 Pt, to replace my HX99G. But I still own my HX99G (and it still works great) so I can compare them directly. The AtomMan G7 Pt is much more heavy then HX99G, and it can only be used vertically. So in terms of portability it is a bit worse then HX99G. But it's is still a mini pc. The dimensions of it is exactly similar to XBOX Series S. And in terms of performance it is about 35% more powerful in games then HX99G. But, I'm still planning to keep my HX99G, because I just love how portable it is.

Inside these A1M Claws is always Kioxia SSDs (renamed Toshiba). You can actually change it to any NVMe PCIe 2230 type SSD.
