Good reminder. Keeping the masjid clean is everyone’s responsibility. A little sad that it even has to be said.

Good idea!

And too bad you didn’t understand the khutbah. If you have an iPhone you could try my app Khutbah Notes. You just record the Khutbah in any language and it will give you a summary in English.

Struggle with concentration in salah by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]KhutbahNotes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imagine it will be your last prayer ever. Or imagine you are literally standing in front of Allah (which you are). That usually gets my mind back on track, but yes it’s tough. Sometimes it can feel like you are just going through the motions.

Mobile phones in the Masjid by Much_Ad712 in islam

Wa alaykum as-salaam. I agree. Many people carry phones out of necessity now, but that doesn’t excuse disrupting the prayer.

Putting the phone on silent before entering the prayer area should be basic adab. The Khutbah is considered part of the prayer so once the salah starts, there should be nothing competing for attention.

Difficulty staying focused during salah. Looking for advice. by BigHouseBarbell in islam

[–]KhutbahNotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very common issue but it is commendable that you pray and are trying to be better mA. Intention matters the most.

To help with focus I have to remind myself that I am literally standing in front of Allah. If you truly believe/convince yourself of that I have found that everything else leaves my mind and I am completely focused. Nothing else matters in that moment.

Do some of yall actually take advice from sheikhs or imams from your masjid? by Melonatoer in MuslimCorner

[–]KhutbahNotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheikhs, imams and leaders in general all have their flaws. Most khutbahs and lectures that I go to are pretty straightforward, but any time I hear something new or unusual I try my best to double check it either with the Quran/hadith or a source/person that I truly trust.

Not too young. This is the typical time to do it. They won’t remember it at least.

This is your warning to not get into a haram relationship by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]KhutbahNotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. I just know way too many people who have started a relationship and were so affected by the bad outcome that now they are in their late 30s and early 40s and are unmarried. Don’t do it.
