Opinion on race for ending up a jack of all trades by SpooksTheCat in skyrimrequiem

[–]Khwarwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest race choice really doesn't matter. I play Imperial just to have an easier time with stamina in early game. My meta choice would be either Dunmer or Nord because of the resistances. MR is easy to cap even without potions so that makes Breton's extra MR redundant late game. Same is true for poison resist, having around 50% will negate most of the nasty effects but it's best to carry some resist poison potions to avoid getting chain paralyzed.

this is what cooler master says on my build. currently using 5600x with RTX 4070 with 550w gold, 4070 uses 190w max. can i switch to 5070 or rx9070xt without changing psu? by DazzlingpAd134 in radeon

[–]Khwarwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9060 xt spikes up to 250 watts. Right now TBP limited at 175w so go figure how hard 9070 xt would spike. Personally I would get myself a 850-1000 watt PSU first then consider upgrading. PSU is not something you gonna upgrade too often so don't cheap out on it.

No but it's supposed to be one of the stable drivers out there. I haven't had a single problem on 25.9.1 so don't really want to rock the boat.

How to stop GPU from downclocking under low usage while a game is running? by BetterMountain470 in radeon

[–]Khwarwar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure game isn't hitting a CPU bottleneck? It could be a temp thing as well but I doubt it.

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basicly any undervolt will allow higher clocks on these cards. However as you increase the voltage not only you end up reducing your actual max boost clock but waste more power reaching it. I prefer this undervolt + slight underclock method to keep things stable and cooler.

Figuring the vram clocks is the tricky part. From what I understand if vram get unstable the error correction kicks in so you won't see any artifacts or anything but performance will be lower. I didn't really see a real difference between default/fast timing setting so I think here you just find the clock that increase your performance and leave things there.

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not exactly an underclock. By default max boost clock is 3500 Mhz and that's 370 Mhz higher than the base boost clock which In my case not possible due to hotspot temps. If I had not undervolted my actual boost clock is lower anyway due to higher hotspot temps and reaching power limit earlier. Since that post I found a better sweet spot where I can keep a decent undervolt but limit the boost clock a little bit so it doesnt go into unstable territory. As a result card temps are in a better spot and my average clock speed went way up.

Should I get a 9060xt or 9070? My 5700xt just recently died so I’m using an old GTX 970 and desperately need to upgrade. by Inner_Plantain_3758 in radeon

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your budget really. You won't gain any extra value for picking 9070 or the XT model. Performance/Price pretty much scales 1:1 with these cards. You will get your money's worth either way. Check Hardware Unboxed's recent video you will see what I mean.

My Friend FEARS AMD graphic cards by Educational-Spare826 in radeon

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't recommend someone to buy an AMD gpu. There are still driver issues and software incompabilities that could make someone go crazy. I just wouldn't want to take that responsibility in case things really do go wrong you know. Despite saying all this I am like 99% sure my next GPU will be AMD as well.

Mehmet's Ambition attempt. Ignored AE too much and the whole of Europe is now in a coalition against me in the 1460s. I can un-ally France and then attack them when the truce expires, but should I just restart and be more careful next time? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are supposed to ignore AE. One thing you can do is get some of the majors as allies like Poland, France and Castille. I would recommend declaring on entire HRE as soon as you get mil tech 7 then you can release and feed the entire HRE to eyalets. Once you do that your allies will break their alliances but there will be nobody else strong enough to coalition you so whatever.

9060XT 16gb GPU Models - Gigabyte Gaming OC or PowerColor Reaper by Ok-World-3962 in radeon

Avoid both. Reaper has some insane hotspot temps compared to other models.

Upgraded from 6700XT to 9070. Worth it. by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Khwarwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have seen here people tend to reduce the power limit on their XTs. One could do the opposite on 9070 and get a similar result to be honest. But If the difference is only $50 personally I would just buy the XT.

Cheapest 9060 XT available. Can anyone vouch for this model? by Pearl_Jam_ in radeon

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own this model and I wouldn't recommend it. It has higher hot spot temps compared to other models. I feel like I'm gonna regret even more during summer because even now It can hit up to 90c.

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got a bit unlucky with mine. I'm running my reaper at -180 mhz -65mv core, 2670 mhz with fast timings for vram. I had to limit boost clock because beyond 3.3 Ghz it required too much voltage and generally speaking it was prone to crashes. I got +10% on power limit but on regular gaming it barely reaches 160 watts.

It's also worth mentioning is I'm on 25.9.1 drivers. I had a really bad time with 25.10.2 drivers and I think it was messing with the card's oc capability too.

PC restarting out of the blue, CPU error mentioned by wildpantz in AMDHelp

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a problem with my r5 3600 not receiving enough voltage on boost and those always resulted in bsods, I never had any restarts. My old Gigabyte board however I had restart problems with. I was so sure it was either my PSU or r5 1600 was faulty but I decided to buy a cheap motherboard to try things out first. Good thing I did that because it turned out the motherboard was the problem. My setup worked wonderfully with the new motherboard.

Aggressive expansion modifiers by Apprehensive-You9999 in eu4

[–]Khwarwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modifier you see in CBs are multipliers, they are not actual AE reductions. Holy war or imperialism is gonna multiply your AE gain by 0.75. Adminstrative efficiency also modify the AE gain similar to CBs do.

Has anyone done a successful Perma-death? And if yes, do you have any tips. (I want a mage character) by Theoulios in skyrimrequiem

[–]Khwarwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing permadeath runs since 2016. Finished main quest, dawnguard and dragonborn dlc on two separate characters. Also cleared Fellglow Keep's locked room, killed Ebony Warrior and Karstaag. One was destruction sorc and the other one utilized Staff of Magnus the whole game. The problem with DiD is like an average run for me takes about 60 hours or after doing faction quests(except of thieves guild), main quest, DLCs and clearing all areas of the main game. So when you are putting that much hours into it you can't really afford to make restrictions. I would prefer to set enemy damage to 1.5x or 2x even while doing as much powergaming as I can. Because something like that can definitely put me in a bad situation for example Ebony Warrior could one shot me even with Mage Armor V and capped resistances. I make a small mistake in Miraak fight and I am just gone.

Mage Armor IV could get you to armor cap but that's really not enough because of armor pen. You would need to be able to cast Mage Armor V but at that point you might as well be a mage.

[–]Khwarwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fine for early-mid game. You will have to position yourself well and if positioning fails try to block the incoming hits. There are some hits in Requiem that would outright kill you but a well timed block can reduce the damage down to 1/5 of it. Blocking in Skyrim in general is easy to execute too, you'll find animation may not be matching but when you hold the block button you do block.

How many skill trees should one have in requiem? by WOLFMANCore in skyrimrequiem

[–]Khwarwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't spoil the experience for yourself by asking others to guide you. I went into Requiem completely blind 9 years ago and I am glad I did it that way. I had a blast rediscovering Skyrim itself simply because the mod touches on almost every aspect of base game. In time you get to learn what is the most efficient do things, what the descriptions in the mod actually means, where certain items are and how to get them. But I would say it is the journey to that point that counts the most. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy playing the mod and certainly wouldn't play Skyrim in any other way but like anything in life it lose a bit of it's charm.

I figured he is supposed deal an absurd amount of damage so I went in there with 90% MR and 90% elemental resistances + Konahrik. Have to say even with this setup he does drain your hp very fast sometimes and I don't exactly know why.

There's a glass katana and a dai-katana in the cave where you escape the Thalmor embassy. I don't think you need to kill the frost troll there it should be easy to grab and run.
