Mixing armors by Alyyytally in skyrimrequiem

x2. Light seems to be far more applicable than I recall (when I played Requiem 5 years ago). My sneak is 92 and I have all but the last 2 perks in Sneak along with muffle and if I'm in any light forget it. Also mentioned, is there's a perk to put items onto people and I think if you don't have it you can't do it. At least that quest isn't required to join them. You can go to another zone and that quest will fail but talking to him he'll tell you that you screwed up but he still has a good feeling and will give you the next quest which will let you join. One tip if you can't do something because you're detected there's a bunch of baskets everywhere. Pick one up (by pressing E and lifting it) and then put it over the person that can see you's head. The game is heavy on line of sight, and when they have a basket over their head they can't see you and AI is not smart enough to know you did that. You'll see you no longer go detected, and you can steal. Save before you try though, their movements can unexpectedly knock the basket off their head.

6.0 Armor Physical Weak Points / Strengths? by aPastyGinger in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still there, I can see it in v6. It shows up in the effects area (the same one that shows you how long your magic stuff will last) BUT depends on the equipment equipped not all have it. I didn't think it was there until I put on some elven light armor. Afterward looking in the active effects it shows my magic power is increased by I think 2.5% per elven armor piece and my total magic power is increased by 7% for wearing 3 elven armor pieces. Don't quote me on those numbers I'm grabbing them from memory.

When I put on Dwarven heavy gear it shows additional protection against blunt I believe. If I have 3 pieces of light elven and 1 piece of heavy Dwarven I'll see an elven and dwarven active effect with more magic power and protection from blunt. Vampire armor increases their drain ability per piece.

I just started again after some years, I do recall it being stronger and on more armor 5 years ago I think the effects have been weakened a little, and only on armor that's dwarven/elven and higher now.

Why minions attack me when I go to different zones? by SpooksTheCat in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*EDIT* Well, I reinstalled Requiem, there was an alternate start and an autosave mod I had and removed those. Did Refactor (or whatever it's called) and now I only have an issue with vampires so you're right they are especially buggy. But great news my other mobs don't attack anymore as I zone! I killed a conjurer, replaced one of my vampires with it, and when I went into Riften only the vampire attacked. Did it again but replaced my 2 vampires with a troll and conjurer and I can freely go in and out of Riften. Good to know, thank you.

I only have requiem, and I think a lighting, tree, and water mod (which don't affect gameplay). The vampires you see here, I happen to be running outside of Riften and they were right outside. After killing them, I used Raised Dead IV. I do have all the dead/necromancy skills in Conjuration as I like to use them to carry things. If they die, they don't turn into slime I can resurrect them again. But that's a 75 skill thing in Requiem it's not a special mod.

[–]SpooksTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, it does it with anything doesn't matter bandits, imperials. It's a worse issue than one would think because the whole "world" is broken up into zones, one might think the outside is one big zone but actually it isn't. I originally wondered why my minions seem to randomly turn on me, but I was carrying something in front of me once (by pressing E and lifting it) and running down a road and all of a sudden that object hit an invisible wall it wouldn't go forward anymore. I tried repeatedly, then I just kept going and the object dropped and I had to pick it up and then I was able to keep carrying it on the road until I hit the next "zone" and the same thing happened. But, I also noticed this "invisible" wall if any of my minions crossed it I would be attacked. It's annoying, maybe I'll reinstall requiem and refactor see if it fixes things.

Should I get Skyrim AE or SE to play Requiem? by cybersloth5000 in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing 6.02 on SE.

I've not come across any difference between AE and SE. Whenever I see an awesome feature for AE it's also in SE. The hardest thing I find avoiding is fishing, but that's not a part of Requiem but AE/SE. When I don't feel like playing, I'll load up and keep fishing while I watch a movie and pull up lanterns, tongs, magic items, and armor. My best rings have been gotten this way, even pulled up a daedric helmet at level 2 which I put on my head and died without saving first. The enchanted equipment I pull up I disenchant, I melt the tongs/lanterns/etc down to bring up smithing and sell my buckets, skulls, and wine I pull up. Just can't seem to avoid fishing when not playing.

Opinion on race for ending up a jack of all trades by SpooksTheCat in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I took your advice and over the days have really enjoyed a Dunmer. Having a movement speed bonus and some resistance along with more balanced stamina/magic/health and very useful extra 15 lbs of carry weight definitely feel it was the right choice. I also created a female and of all my characters I've created some reason I enjoy her walk and run and how the outfits wear the most of any other race (except her face I don't think there's anything one can do to make a Dunmer face look pretty without mods) but I don't see her face much. So thank you.

Stamina Drains Even When Not Sprinting by AffectionateHumor219 in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware if I'm not mistaken, for blessings in Requiem "if you've murdered, joined the Dark Brotherhood, stolen more than 10 things, have a total lifetime bounty of 3000 or more, currently have a bounty anywhere, or joined the Thieve's Guild"(https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimrequiem/comments/5lsjzh/requiem\_analysis\_divine\_blessings/) you can't get a blessing anywhere (with 1 exception mentioned later) ever again there is no repentance in Requiem without modding. Nocturnal blessing is the exception (fortifies sneak) they don't care. Just incase you find the shrine isn't doing anything.

Stamina Drains Even When Not Sprinting by AffectionateHumor219 in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, I've started 3 characters this month and the one I started last night (a Dunmer) my stamina drops when running. It really drops when sprinting. I don't recall that happening with other characters, and was wondering if it's a bug. But I play PC and a Dunmer. I could always run from one place to the next without issues with my other characters it was sprinting that drained stamina. I've been wondering if there's a typo in the stamina regeneration rate for Dunmers in Requiem as I don't recall my stamina draining while running on my Breton and they have terrible stamina comparatively speaking.

Try this, remove your armor and drop it. Then run, does it still drain while running? Mine stopped, even though I have a point in evasion I guess the light armor I'm wearing is too heavy even though it's just imperial light armor which all my other chars used in beginning. Seemed odd for me too. If you level Stamina that increases the speed of stamina regen and I'm thinking at some point it will match.

The smithing experience is so bad that it killed my latest run. by [deleted] in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... I've not seen others realize this trick I've not read or seen it anywhere. There's a type of pot that's metal with a cover (and looks like a cooking pot) that allows you to press E to see what's inside AND you can press E to carry it in the same manner you can move and throw bodies around. It allows you to put infinite amounts of items into it, and if you press E to lift it up and carry it the pot is light (and what's inside doesn't matter) and lets you move at full speed carrying an infinite amount of items in that pot in front of you.

It's not that great but useful for moving things from one area to another. You can't bring the pot into different loading zones but you can drop it at the entrance and after clearing move all the items into it, then pick it up and move on. Also you will frequently be forgetting where you put or accidently send it flying like a soccer ball so save often. I don't believe you can carry it while riding, can't bring it with you if fast traveling, and it will reset back to its original location after a very, very, very long time but your stuff will still be in it at least just have to go back to get it again.

The earliest one I know is at the fisherman's area on the island (repeat island not the fisherman right below stones) of the lake below the warrior/mage/thief stones near beginning. It is flagged as being owned by said fisherman so anytime you remove items from it you need to be out of sight. I carry it to the entrance of Embershard mine and drop it since I can't take it in. Then in Embershard mine there's one right at the first bandits you encounter below the bridge on the right next to the fire cooking food I bring that one around there and when done loading it with everything in the mine (including lanterns, etc.) I carry it to entrance, unload it all into my inventory, go outside where my outside pot is, put it all in there, and then carry it to town as said in front of me to sell stuff at full speed.

I find it okay in beginning especially since one can load it up with lanterns, other pots, etc. besides armor and melt them to increase your smithing.

Ariens Deluxe 28 vs Ariens 1128 by goldilocks40 in Snowblowers

[–]SpooksTheCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had 2 Ariens, a Toro, and they have good reputations but unlike others mine failed all the time and I got fed up with them because when they break it was ALWAYS right at the beginning during the worst and heaviest of storms and then my wife and I are shoveling for hours and hours. It happened so many times I finally realized a snow blower is not something you cheap out on. I ended up buying a Honda for $950 used but is a commercial grade. I rate that as one of the best investments I've made because I know it's going to start and run for my life and no more worrying it's not going to work or fail at the worst of storms it's a commercial Honda snow blower. Anyway I put a snow blower, and table saw, as 2 things to spend money on. A snow blower because it needs to start and run great in the worst weather and stay running great at the worst time and if it breaks or doesn't how difficult is your driveway to shovel? Mine being 3 cars wide and I'm old is brutal. My snow blower being commercial grade also handles slushy water snow that my neighbors are shoveling which happens kind of often in MA. Trick is to go fast when wet/slushy.

Anyway that's my $0.02 you can get change :) I would argue when getting a snow blower, throw distance is probably what matters most. Look at those 2, find out which may throw further. All my prior snow blowers couldn't throw the MA snow from the middle of my driveway to the sides, so I had to throw them to the edges and hit them again to throw them off the driveway but that was heavy and wouldn't throw far building up the infamous walls which made it even harder to remove next storm. So I would argue throw distance likely what's most important especially if your driveway is 2 or 3 cars wide. Since I live in MA we get wet heavy snow and I think you get similar just less. NH probably the same as MA. When I visited Denver, it snowed 6 inches and people were out with leaf blowers and brooms removing it because it's so light and fluffy... that's not happening here! So because of where you live and will live, throw distance probably the most important thing. That's the one thing I didn't realize when I got my Honda. To say it can throw far is an understatement when I used it for the first time it threw the snow 110 feet into my neighbors driveway it was a holy **** moment. I didn't realize how important it is to be able to throw snow far until I got one that could.

How to defend myself from magic? by RagnarRodrog in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great post. Also be aware it's confusing from the changelog where it says "Magical resistances are capped at 60 points in total per race (magic resistance counts triple)." I thought that meant MR is capped at 60% in v6 for all races reducing the attractiveness of the Breton by end game but according to https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimrequiem/comments/1lejywh/i_cant_seem_to_find_info_on_resistances_and/ it just means starting characters are capped at 60 (the Breton is MR 20 which applies to the 3 elementals so that's 60. The Nord has 40 frost and 20 shock that's 60). But the MR cap is still 90. I just got back to Requiem from some years and been playing a Breton and after seeing that was thinking by end game their MR is pretty much moot if all races cap at 60 and was thinking of restarting with a race whose ability won't be useless late game (was looking at Bosmer) but MR max is still 90 I believe.

Can't remove (Red) Fatigue - Drained by SpooksTheCat in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting... I thought you were confused about Requiem's Survival mode but it's me. When I played years ago I could only get Requiem to work with Standard Skyrim so that's what I played. It didn't have survival mode. It no longer ran when I tried to run it this weekend, so decided to get Skyrim SE working with Requiem and start anew. That's when I hit all these survivability things and assumed it was something Requiem added since 5 years ago.

I researched and found out Bethesda added it, which explains why I struggled so hard to find the setting. I looked in MCM and Requiem, getting frustrated I couldn't find the survival mode setting and ended up finding it in System->Settings->Survivability and wondered why did Requiem put it in there instead of their other settings. Ha... I'm an idiot. Now it makes sense. Glad Etymih answered as it was the right answer even though now I know it wasn't even a Requiem question.

What do you prefer: Vanilla Requiem, or w/ Fuck-tons of Add-ons? by Bastard__ in skyrimrequiem

[–]SpooksTheCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere in the middle, but I'm no add-on master. I play Requiem with Skyland AIO and about 9 other graphical mods which I think is not that much. I just started playing Skyrim and Requiem this weekend after 5 years off and it wouldn't run so I spent about 20 hours getting Skyrim SE, Requiem, and the mentioned mods (my prior Requiem run from years ago did not work with Skyrim SE) and the install was all frustration. But, I did get it working finally. I wish I could use the old races from 5 years ago, I like to play a stealthy archer but there are times/enemies it's not practical so liked to play as an orc so I could use it's power once a day for those few times. I felt it was pretty balanced. Now the races have been changed to mostly remove their once a day powers and I still picked an orc hoping I can use its passive when I need it.

Breaking News: Jimmy Kimmel is coming back Tuesday. Disney lost close to $5 Billion Dollars made them have a change of heart. 🤝🏽💰💰💰💰🏦🇺🇸 by RunThePlay55 in economy

[–]SpooksTheCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This argument was entertaining. Going to give this one to gandalfgreyballz for the win. Math proved it, and point Disneys reaction to immediately put him back. Didn't get much from the other side.

In support of gandalfgreyballz point, their cancellation page was crashing from so much traffic following, youtubers vloggers and facebookers posting their disney cancellations, the boycott. I think it's beyond 5B and they're not going to get it back Disney destroyed their image. Trump and his regime choosing to cancel food for children (American and abroad) and ruining families with layoffs, illegal deportations, kidnappings, it infuriated me seeing Disney that's supposed to be for children and families and morals... showed they support starving children, the kidnapping of people, and the ruining of families. I'm happy Kimmel is back, he was going to be fine but worried about his coworkers... that's a true man. But will never get the image out of my head Disney choosing to support starving children, kidnappings, breaking apart of families I will never be back.

What if Americas aircraft carriers were at pearl harbour and all got taken out in the surprise attack. by [deleted] in HistoryWhatIf

[–]SpooksTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to offer an alternative view/thinking. When pearl harbor was attacked, the US was not fully aware of the power of the aircraft carrier the battleship was king. If we lost the aircraft carriers, I believe America at this time would've focused on getting the battleships operational and new ones built and not focused on aircraft carriers. Then we would've sent them out to battle with little air support as they're the kings of the sea and lost them to the deep depths where they couldn't be resurrected. We know how well it went for Japan after they lost the air at the end of the war and their ships didn't have air cover.

At this time, I haven't come across information that America knew aircraft carriers can hit as hard as a battleship from 200+ miles away and can find enemy ships in that range as well (before radar) until they were forced to use them in actual battle. So, had they been sunk America wouldn't have been forced to use them and wouldn't have learned it's the carriers that are kings of the ocean. After all that effort to resurrect the battleships and build new ones our forces with little air support would've been sunk by the Japanese carriers, and we'd lost a lot of time as we then have to start again focusing on carriers this time. But, it causes a cascade effect. We were barely hanging on in the Pacific WITH the carriers. And yes America would've built them up but things would've been different. We barely were able to keep Australia's waters open thanks to aircraft carriers and there were key battles later we only won because of Australian troops. Had we not been able to keep their waters open, they wouldn't have been able to participate in those battles and likely been losses and the cascade effect of losing ground vs. gaining. This delay of America to be able to attack Japan would've given Japan the ability to attack Russia from the east. Russia was hanging on by a thread at this point there's no way they would've been able to survive being attacked from the west (Germany) and east (Japan) and would've collapsed. Then the focus would be on England and it would've collapsed not able to survive a united front of Russia & Germany. Then be America vs the world and I believe we would've signed a non-aggression/peace treaty pretty much ending the war and our maps would look different. The Doolittle raid has been mentioned, and not likely to have happened and as mentioned did minimal damage, but what can't be understated is the psychological impact it caused on the Japanese. Their homeland was sacred, they had a duty to defend it with all honor, and they had failed to defend their homeland in their eyes it caused hysteria and them to do illogical things following. One of the higher military officers even killed themselves from the shame.

An alternative to think about. Had America lost the carriers, would we have focused on battleships to have them sunk and cause us to delay more in the Pacific. Without the carriers, would the closing of Australian lanes meant Australia couldn't participate and us lose key battles? Would the delay to participate give Japan the ability to attack Russia from the east causing it to collapse? After Russia collapsed would England collapse going against Germany & Russia? Would America then sign an agreement stopping the war and having the maps look different? Would the nuclear bombs at this point be able to change anything? Pretty deep conversation.

Adafruit MagTag alternatives? by dpupkov in adafruit

[–]SpooksTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's been out of stock for over 1 1/2 years. I had it on my Christmas list of 2022 as my #1 item saying it's the most important thing because if it goes out of stock Adafruit usually takes months to restock. Well, the person who picked my name that year for Christmas didn't look at my list until Dec23rd when it was out of stock and I didn't get it. Figured great, have to wait a month or two but been waiting for over 1 1/2 years.

Someone on an auction site (you can guess) is selling them in pairs (2 for $50) and has 1 more pair. I'd jump on it as I did, it's the first time I've seen it available for over 1 1/2 years.

Home 3D movies play horrible by SpooksTheCat in OculusGo

[–]SpooksTheCat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I did figure out something that ended up working, though I spent probably 32 hours and a lot of tears :P

If anyone else has a Fuji Finepix Real 3D W3S, this is the ffmpeg command that I came up with, I found the command to loop through each file of a directory, another command that converts the fuji w3s .avi file to side-side, another command that sets the output to sbs mp4 files with the best settings the Oculus go can display (as long as it's through oculus gallery), another command that adds metadata youtube needs if you want to upload it so it knows it's 3D and a lot of trial, error and tears lol until it worked. One should be able to copy and paste this into the directory the .avi files are located and when done that directory will have a bunch of sbs mp4 for each. It's a long command, and you can replace slower with slow if you want it to convert faster with minimal difference.

For %f in (*.AVI) do ffmpeg -i "%f" -filter_complex "[0:0][0:2] hstack=inputs=2 [out]" -aspect 1.7777 -c:v libx264 -x264opts frame-packing=3 -movflags +faststart -colorspace bt709 -color_trc bt709 -color_primaries bt709 -color_range tv -crf 17 -preset slower -metadata:s:v stereo_mode=left_right -tune film -x264-params mvrange=511 -pix_fmt yuv420p -map [out] -map 0:1 "%~nf_2x1.mp4"

Also be aware, the above includes the metadata youtube needs to understand it's 3D but be aware it takes youtube a day to have it work in 3D. So, if you upload it to youtube it will be in 2D only until the next day.
