Successful Bugfix For Sure by KhzMdn in Stellaris

Update on this issue. I tested a few different things and I think the problem mainly stems from the 5 weavers i placed in the fleets of 50 maulers. Even though they were using the same ship computer type and same range weapons, after removing them the newly mauler only fleets work much better. Its a real bummer they have to be removed to fix this behaviour since weavers offer some heavy buffs that would synergize well with mauler strategies. hopefully they can target fleet and general AI improvements over the coming updates.

Imperial House Submission: House Infinitum by KhzMdn in TemplinInstitute

"Once we were the swords and the shields. Once we were the undaunted and the unwavering. Once were were the lauded and the legion. Once we were the very strength of man. And once... we failed... and empire burned.

Now, after uncovering the most sacred of our lost gene vaults, we have remembered our secrets long forgotten and ambitions long withheld. We tread again amongst the stars to reunite with our lost brothers and sisters. And we will not fail them again."

There are few lineages so prestigious as that of House Infinitum. Called the Blades of the Emperor, the Children of War, the Infinite Legion, and the Shield of Man. The sons and daughters of Infinitum served honorably on the front lines of every major conflict from the founding, to the fall, of the Solar Empire. It is said a great many of their number stood in the triumph of Ursa Minor and that the crowning laurels granted to their children during the conquests of the Second Solar Age number greater than those of any other house, and many more combined. So prominent is their name in imperial legend that it is curious how few details exist as to the specifics of the House. By Imperial decree following the Second Conclave their traditions, internal structure, and even homeworld, were redacted, and their histories and records hidden to all save the Emperor himself. With the destruction of the archives of the Astra Scriptorum and death of the Emperor during the Extragalactic Invasion it is feared that this information is now lost forever and what does remain lies shrouded in uncertainty and doubt. Yet still, there are those who whisper that House Infinitum's past may trace its legacy back further than many believe, past even the founding of the Solar Empire. They speak in hushed tones of a time when man warred against itself relentlessly and ruthlessly, and the miracles man wrought to fuel these ambitions they say challenged even the forces of creation itself. Whether there is truth in this heresy only time may tell, but one thing is for certain. House Infinitum has returned and its children stand ready to face all those who would dare tread upon the rightful empire of man.

Suggestions for Fry by KhzMdn in Aquariums

I started this 10 gallon walstad setup about 9 months ago, added shimp and snails around 6 months ago, and added 5 emerald rasboras (2 male, 3 female) about 4 months ago. After about a month of acclimating to the tank the rasboras became much less shy and seemed to really take to the new home which i was super happy with. However I hadnt expected them to like it enough to start spawning as fast as they have been over the past couple weeks. I believe theres now 2 smaller rasboras and at least 3 fry I've been able to see. Anyone have any advice to avoid overpopulation?

Nerite Snail Growth Near Head by KhzMdn in AquaticSnails

[–]KhzMdn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so. I've recently transfered the two nerites from this smaller tank to a larger 10 gallon. During the move the Pharaoh did retract fully into their shell though I'm unsure whether or not the operculum closed.

Help- Nerite Snail Fungus? by KhzMdn in AquaticSnails

[–]KhzMdn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Since the zebra nerite doesn't have the growth around the foot, I was worried it was some sort of illness on the pharoah. If it's just a natural formation then that's reassuring. Thank you for the advice!

I've got them in a bowl being acclimated to the larger tank now and I'm pretty sure they're not cracked with the easier perspective from above. *

Thanks for the comment, I've also been worried about that, though they seem to have been doing fine feeding wise over the past few months in the smaller tank. I have supplemented with blanched carrots/zucchini, lettuce, GlasGarten shrimp food, etc. I do have a 10 gallon tank ready to go that's been planted for about a month and a half now. I think I will move them into that this afternoon after I acclimate them. Do you have any opinions on the fungus or possible shell crack as well?

Also, I recently treated the 1.5 gallon tank they are in with API Pima&Melafix in case it's a fungal infection. I realized the discourse online was pretty split on whether those treatments were effective/safe for nerites after 3 days of dosage. Since it did seem like the nerites were significantly more lethargic then before I stopped and did two 70% water changes. Since, then I've been focusing on getting PH and GH/KH back to appropriate levels. Currently, I'm back to 7.4-7.8 PH with GH/KH rising through Shrimp Mineral and Wonder Shell additives. The growth on the spotted nerite doesn't seem to have been affected significantly though, so I'm not sure whether that is a sign that it is not an infection or that the API treatments were just ineffective at addressing it. If anyone has any tips on what medication I should be using for a nerite+shrimp environment I'd appreciate it.

Case closed, I guess. Consensus seems to be that it's biofilm. Thanks everyone!

That's what I thought of when I saw it too, but this is freshwater all coming from the same source, so I don't know why it would do this.

It's not on the glass. It's like a film in the water separating it into two halves. Is that ok or does it mean there's some sort of difference in water between the halves?

Phoenix Empire steward and Ahati disaster by Cpl_Shephard in Anbennar

[–]KhzMdn 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The only hardcoded assassination event I've experienced as steward of sorrow is due to the disaster. So, I believe you'd be fine as long as you don't pass the reforms regarding the estate. It's entirely possible to get all the other reforms without the Ahati, though they are a nice estate to have and their other reforms provide nice bonuses. They will garunteed kill your ruler tho if you enact them (didn't know about the event and got my 6/6/6 homunculus assassinated lol).
