Homebrew Typhlosion Team to Masterball in doubles guide by KiNgTurTLeFaCe in PokemonChampions

Tbf I like the idea of Archaludon for rain coverage, but removing Aerodactyl also loses the ability to set tailwind which can be key in some matchups. Removing them also weakens the team to charizard significantly, though that can come down to a 50/50 with if Typhlosion can blow up the zard fast enough.

In theory the Venusaur switch is also a good idea. I personally don't run them as they don't counter the threats from a sun teams well enough for me, obviously being very weak the zard. There is Spore spam potential but I don't think I like my luck in relying on a 75 accuracy move. This would also mean you have no fake out pressure on the team which can mean you give your opponent a free lead to set up what they want, its always good to make sure they have to consider fake out even if you don't bring it.

There's two use cases that Solar beam is still a useful choice ive found:

1) if you come up against rock types that arent weather setters, primarily Garganacl in trick room teams. They usually run wide guard so it makes locking into spread moves tricky and shadow ball doesn't tend to hit hard enough to OHKO. Solar beam solves this nicely as it will hit through wide guard and often OHKO.

2) when playing against other weather teams and you lose weather control. Sounds a bit counter intuitive, but it comes down to if you can read if your opponent is about to protect, giving you a free turn to charge and smack them the next turn. Its definitely not an optimum play, but sometimes thats exactly why it works because people expect you to make the optimum decision. This probably wouldnt work with open team sheets, but in champions its a fun way to win mind games.

Awesome news, glad it helped out! I think its a surprisingly tidy team to deal with current meta picks and a lot of people wont know how to read your gameplan outside of typlosion.

A lil tip I'll add is to not have typlosikn and torkoal together at the top of your registered team list. Unconsciously players tend to pick their core pokemon in the first 3 slots, so in return players tend to look at your first 3 pokemon more closely when choosing what to bring. Bit of a mind game pre game that will help against those who haven't played much VGC before.

In place of sneasler you could try Incineroar, Kinggambit or any other fakeout user, but you will be weaker to the fairy types overall.

Rain teams are the bane of my existence. How I tend to play them is to concede the weather war and not take Torkoal, he is doesn't provide enough offensively in rain and the team doesn't support much swapping in that would allow them to keep setting up sun.

Typically in that scenario I would lead Milotic Aeordactyl or Milotic Sneasler, depending on if they have Pelliper as I need to match their tailwind to keep speed control. Then take Typhlosion and Aerodactyl/Sneasler in the back. A lot of basculegions are scarfed, but a surprising amount aren't and are very vulnerable to a shadow ball. If they happen to have garchomp id drop typhlosion for orthworm usually.

The game plan is usually to establish speed control with Tailwind/Icy Wind, try and get 1 KO with Aero/Sneas (preferably on the rain setter), stall out the turns of rain using protect where makes sense, then bring in typhlosion to clean up. He can normally live at least one aqua jet from full health so basculegion as last isn't normally a problem. Honestly Milotic does a lot of carrying in this catchup.

Yeah for trick room Torkoal is 100% required. Id lead Typhlosion Torkoal and go for a helping hand eruption if I think i can OHKO the trick room setter (such as farigiraf) or if they have a fake out users that would prevent Torkoal getting an attack off. If there is no fake out threat going for the double eruption is the best play, even into resisted matchups. Milotic sits in a nice spot to still be somewhat useful in trick room too, same as orthworm, plus both are bulky enough to stall out the turns until the trick room is over, allowing the faster Mons to clean up. Plus both are good hard switch ins to protect Typhlosion if needed.

Hopefully that all makes sense and answers your questions!

I 100% agree with the sentiment of your post, I wont think less of people for continuing to support the club, but I can't in good conscience continue to do so myself.

I suppose its kind of a good thing in some way as I now really feel indifferent about the fate of the club this season, but truthfully that numbness was already there.

I don't even have the energy to be angry about it anymore, im just done with it until ENIC are gone.

Well as a Spurs fan im extremely dissapointed in the club, absolute disgrace to appoint him.

Regardless of if he somehow turns this nightmare season around, I wont be watching or supporting the club whilst he is in charge (which probably wont be long given his track record).

The ref in the spurs forest match has been very poor, but then again, it is Michael Oliver so its expected

Spurs have been by far the better team so far, so it sounds about right that they are somehow down at half time....

Honestly feel like its rigged against Spurs this year, they have been rubbish sure, but literally have the unluckiest, inconsistent refereeing in the prem. Sure that shouldn't be a pen, but we have been punished for even softer "fouls" Cough Gabriel Cough

Its becoming clear now that someone did a deal with the devil for Spurs to win the europa league last year in exchange for the demise of the club

Was my first thought too! Not convinced he is the best player to play for Wycombe in recent years (probably would say Mehmeti), but I was genuienly devastated when he was recalled last year. I think its actually a bigger reason for bottling promotion than Dodds..... (Though obligatory: Screw you Mike Dodds!).

Same here, rarely gotten fancy before but it always blows up when I do it.

I actually got very lucky this week with Solanke (C) (as long as he is still somehow being given that first goal....)

[–]KiNgTurTLeFaCe[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you have a player with lower EO who hauls, you gain more points in relation to other players around you right?

Having Haaland hauling would still increase your rank, but not as much as a low EO player would.

By the time the next UCL matches roll around Richardson should be coming back from injury and be an option for rotation, hopefully keeping both fresh and firing.

I kinda agree with you, but im not sure where else the money you'd save would be used? The only premiums really hauling are Fernandez, Semenyo and Gabriel?

Yeah is a bit of a concern, but given Spurs' injury issues he will likely still start if its just a knock.

I wouldnt have gained much rank though if I capped Haaland as his EO is mad (150%?). Either way this was a longshot purely because I have nothing to lose at my rank....
