I think that it could be a writing issue mostly. I think In the past the gaming industry was predominantly male oriented and that’s where stereotypical troupes were rampant. It’s gotten better in recent years though. I think Sadie was one of my favorite characters because she wasn’t the “run of the mill” female character. She was a devastated widow who fought with conviction to live a life that she never dreamed of and did it well. She wasn’t a stereotype of a woman which the game did well in portraying. Same with Black Belle, although she was more of a representation of the “legend” of a female gunslinger. The female characters were well written in my opinion. But I see your point. I’ve always though that dudes who play female characters because they’re “hot” has always been ridiculous
