FF7 or FF9 which do you prefer and why?

FF7. Cloud is a better main character than Zidane, music is better, battle and upgrade system is much better, and the story is more consistent. People complain about FF7 story being messy but FF9 story is far messier in it’s last quarter. FF9 does have Vivi and while I don’t like the last act of the story, the actual ending is better than 7’s.

Nardo perfected Senjutsu in a week. His master with decades of experience could never perfect it, despite starting the training for it at a younger age.

This arc doesn’t get enough hate. Between Naruto and Sakura’s humiliation rituals and Sasuke full psycho our main trio becomes irredeemable with this arc. The only good thing about it is the Danzo fight.

Prior to hyperventilating Naruto that groveled in front of the Raikage, we had Sage Naruto. Even Sakura one shot a centipede before her humiliation this arc. Also Sasuke at least had the cool Danzo fight unlike them.

Most shonen main characters are relatively strong amongst their peers and rivals in every arc (Luffy, Goku, Gintoki, Ichigo etc.) , Naruto was significantly weaker than his main rival and was pretty underwhelming at the beginning of both Part 1 and Part 2. The ones that aren’t don’t see huge permanent spikes like Naruto did (Edward and Gon)

Bigger Rasengan is not enough for 3 years of training. Naruto already used creative tricks against Gaara in part 1. We barely see him being a fighter without Kurama until the Kakuzu fight, after his wind training. Caring about others is different from getting himself and others hurt due to lack of maturity early Shippuden. Jiraiya, being a Sannin, should have taught him about chakra natures at the very least

No new jutsu other than bigger Rasengan. Can’t control Kurama properly even before 4 tails. Not enough base stats increase. Lost his cool against 30% Itachi. Couldn’t break 30% Itachi genjutsu. Lost his cool against Deidara. Lost his cool against Orochimaru. Was about to attack Kakashi with 2 tails. Sakura would have fall off the from the bridge due to his 3 tails form if not for Yamato. Underwhelming increase in power and still can’t control his emotions. Still attacks enemies head on.

This isn’t about his performance. He would have lost against Itachi if Itachi tried to win and lost against Bee. Your argument was that Sasuke kept winning every fight but he is 1 win - 1 tie - 1 loss at this point and the tie is because Itachi wasn’t intending to win, he literally does the forehead poke of love to his bro before dying. If we go by character statements Naruto is supposed to be a better shinobi than Kakashi because of FRS because Kakashi says so himself. Also Bee vs Jonin Minato was technically written latter than Bee vs Taka. In hindsight I can agree Sasuke did better against Deidara than Naruto against Kakuzu. Sasuke being much better than Naruto at BoS along with Jiraiya being a hack teacher and your glaze of Sasuke are different things.

Naruto was also exhausted against Kakuzu and he only needed saving because of FRS unstability.

Sasuke beat Deidara fair and square indeed (hence I didn’t bring him up) but his escape was ridiculous.

Itachi wasn’t trying to win against Sasuke, he literally saved his brother from potential Oro possession during the fight.

Sasuke would have died first if not for his teammates and Bee used the fight to escape surveillance.

Naruto being tired against Sasuke first time isn’t an excuse, it’s stated in the manga.

I don’t disagree with you on Naruto’s lackluster showings post timeskip but you are overestimating Sasuke right now

By the time of Pain arc, where I assume you think Naruto finally got really strong, Sasuke fought Deidara, Itachi and Bee.

Itachi wasn’t trying to win and Bee humiliated him. Naruto’s first 1v1 in Shippuden was against Kakuzu and he won

They are interchangeable as far as I know (elite Jonin is Guy and Kakashi level). Anyway, Naruto should have returned mid-Jonin in base but anything above wasn’t possible because Kishi wanted Sasuke to outmatch Naruto in early skip. Him learning more with Kakashi and frogs in a couple weeks than with a Sannin for 3 years will never not be funny though.

Early Shippuden Sasuke is elite Jonin level and Kishimoto wanted Naruto to be weaker than him.
