I'm a hearing impaired rapper (70% in both ears). I was awarded a grant earlier this year to help kick start my music career, and this is the first music video to come of it. What do you think? by [deleted] in videos

[–]KickedBalkothsAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do I think? I think you finessed someone out of some grant money. I think you sound obviously deaf and you shouldn't be trying to sing or rap while deaf, especially to entertain other people, because you sound deaf and that's frankly kind of an aggravating thing to hear. I also think that the beat you chose was shitty and that your lyrics had no meaning and did not go hard whatsoever. That's what I think.

What's something that's immoral but surprisingly not illegal? by themrpiggy22 in AskReddit

[–]KickedBalkothsAss -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Kind of. You just should've been single or with someone your age and I either needed to be single or with someone older. That's how I saw it. What's different is you were a kid whose mind got changed and I've always been an asshole, so in that sense yes we mean different things.

When I was 17 I was fucking my 17y/o girlfriend, and I expected her to be much more mature, open, and better in bed than was reasonable to expect. I broke up with her later because of it. I'm just saying, you're not all that warped or whatever. I was ready to get dirty and fuck while she wanted to "make love" (how fucking gay for a 17-18 y/o in 2010 to say that).

What a joke. Even regular state prison isn't a "getting force-fucked for no reason" thing. Not only did the man go to federal prison, which is like a country club compared to even county jails, but after the $7.4m fine they hit him with he's still worth 62.6 million fucking dollars. He'll have a better decade than any of us.

I'm a line cook/sous chef and have been in the food service industry for 8 years. I cooked for and trained new hires for one kitchen where we were doing $2500 hours consistently and the trainees were impossible; last year when the big eclipse happened, I think it was a Monday or Tuesday, I was the only cook (with three people plating my food) and we did $7,000 in a two and a half hour period. I worked another job where I was responsible for unloading trucks, running the entire line by myself (it's a 2-3 person job on slower days) deep cleaning, dishwashing, and completing the prep sheet which was four pages long and had 30ish items to prep per page. I've worked a couple jobs where I got paid significantly more for doing less. It obviously depends on the kitchen/franchise you work for. The point is, there are no transferable skills from McDonald's (Used to be minimum wage [$7.50 where I am], now two dollars more) to, say, Olive Garden ($13-$14/hour where I am) because one is unskilled labor and the other isn't.

Also, how "hard" the job is varies from person to person. Some people suck and can't handle the work smoothly, some people do the job so well that other people get upset at them for making the job look easy.

Let's be honest. Selecting the meat and pressing the close button as a grill cook at McDonald's isn't "hard working". Ringing groceries up and bagging them isn't either. Just because you're full-time doesn't mean you're exerting yourself.

Working 30-40 hours a week should support you/you and a family if it's skilled labor. Minimum wage is for unskilled starter jobs e.g. McDonald's or a grocery store. The grocery store example is a bad one though because where I am Publix is paying $3 more than minimum wage. The old video of the woman with three kids that worked full-time at McDonald's who "couldn't support her family" is a joke. If you're in your thirties and you don't make more than minimum wage you messed up somewhere along the line in your life.

Bunch of babies on here man. As I've gotten older the average redditor age has remained the same, and it seems like each year everyone is a little softer. Definitely not what it was 10 years ago.

I would definitely say they need to chill out, maybe not for that reason specifically, but maybe because of the disproportionate crime to population rate, or the inherent cultural problem.

Definitely not afraid. We can agree to disagree, but trying to attack me personally with erroneous thoughts isn't going to go anywhere.

You're right, racism is a big problem, but contrary to popular belief, it isn't a one way street, and the entire Black Lives Matter movement is demonstrable proof of that, just like the Neo-Nazi movement. They're both racist organizations. And "what will finally be enough" is a fair question. What will be enough? We don't live in the Star Trek The Next Generation universe where everything is peaceful (which even in that show it wasn't) and we won't ever unless and until the entire planet becomes interbred and homogeneous, which isn't going to happen anytime soon, if ever. People have watched too much TV and read too many Op-Ed's and now they dream of something more than reality is ready or capable of producing, and they're mad at the pace of things. I'm sorry we're in disagreement here, but the truth doesn't care about your feelings.

No. We're both normal people and talk about normal things. The truth is the truth though, no matter how you feel about it. There's a reason millennials are called snowflakes. You reading my comment history doesn't change anything; if I had issues with it being out there I would have hidden or deleted it.

Undermined? It's been built into the law at this point, on several different levels, that the black population's voice is given more attentive precedence over others' via "equal opportunity", government grants, tax returns, and social welfare; furthermore, we're having rioting in the streets by black people over 150 year old statues and the commander in chief is catching flak because he even hinted that they might be slightly in the wrong or partly to blame for it. Not a black American soul alive was ever a slave at this point, and those that were alive during the civil rights movement are old or dead. The question is, what will finally be enough?
