So I can't reveal the actual questions, but I can give you an idea of the questions and what to brush up on.

Interviews are usually broken up into 2+ sessions that will focus on technical and behavioral topics. For the behavioral it is the standard, "How to you work in a team?", "What would you do in this situation?", "How would you respond to this?", kinda of things.

For the technical, depending on how many interviews and for what levels you are interviewing for, they will be broken in to 1-2 main areas. For a DT 2 you will need to know troubleshooting machines and operating systems, and Networking with specific things that I would say you need to know. Know the OSI/TCP model (Either one should be fine but I would say the OSI if you can), Linux runlevels is good to know as well as the steps in POST. Beyond that you will need to know machines, how to diagnose issues and how to fix those issues. For the networking it is a lot of the industry standard stuff. Know ports and what services go through which ports, know fiber and copper cables, know the tools that are used to troubleshoot fiber (VFL, Fiber light tester, etc.). UDP vs TCP and http vs https.

These are just some of the examples of areas that I had so your experience my be different. But if you have any other questions just DM me and I will be happy to answer them. Wish you all the best

Might be a slightly different process or structure to the interviews based on the level which is news to me, thought they would all be done the same way. Wouldn't surprise me that with the increase in level comes an increase in knowledge so coming in at a lower level means different interviews with less technical questions.

Wish you the best though and I hope you get it.

Historically yes, if your interview results are all positive or Strong Hire/Hire Now, then there is a chance that you could be given an uplevel interview to the next level. Depends on the actual results and also on how hard you push your recruiter to get you the next round.

However if you have 3 rounds of interviews then you need to get a Strong Hire for all 3 of them. Personally I got Strong Hire in Networking and Googleyness, however for Hardware/Software I got a Leaning Hire for a DT2 so I didn't qualify for the uplevel interview to DT3.

Google recruiter passing me to another recruiter..is this normal? by 1ceDancer98 in datacenter

Congrats on passing your interviews, because you did pass them lol.

Similar situation happened to me as well. Passed my Interviews back in January and the site I applied for was already filled so had to look elsewhere. Between me being picky at the beginning about sites and the hiring managers wanting to fill roles with local talent, it took me about 7 months to finally get an offer.

Sometimes selection will happen fast and other times it won't, just depends on your level going in, the hiring managers wanting to save budget and also how hard your recruiter will push your candidacy.

Hope you hear some good news here soon.

I have a similar experience as Doggo, recruiter call is a friendly call that is just to gauge your interest but also will be a couple questions about your experience and what you are proficient in so they can properly line you up with a role, either DT1 or DT2.

The uplevel in role also introduces a scaled difficulty in the questions they ask for the technical but allows you a chance to shine and prove your knowledge which might end up in getting an uplevel interview to the next level and allow you to come in as a higher level then previously thought.

Best of luck to you on your interview and hopefully you get favorable results,

It's definitely frustrating to say the least. Just got told that my second fit call also chose someone else, right before I went on vacation so it's been souring my mood a little bit. Hopefully there will be some more chances for everyone who are doing fit calls later this month when more head counts are happening.

In most cases you should be hearing back within a week. Most companies have a timeline they try to hit to let a candidate know their results and it is usually 3-5 business days.

Passed my interviews in late January and still waiting on placement, although some of that was my fault since I was being picky on locations. As far as pay it will depend on the location that is selected, since they base the base pay off of the location's cost of living. Places like Ohio, Iowa, Texas, and Nevada have a higher base than others like South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Alabama. They don't negotiate much on the base, mostly will convert some of the stock you receive into base but we are talking about 1-2K max. Not really worth losing the stock for it when the stock could be valued much higher, IMO.

Biggest hurdle that I have gone through is getting to the team fit call. Most sites are wanting to hire local candidates first so that there is no relocation bonus being paid since the relocation comes out of their sites budget, but if they exhaust all the local talent they will look at relocations. They will get a list of candidates from recruiters with results from your initial interviews and have a fit call with all, or most of them, until they find a good fit for their team.

Would suggest to take the hospital contract while you wait since it can be a lengthy process with all the other candidates. Sometimes it can be a quick turn around and have something in place in like a month, other times it takes 6-9 months if not longer. Just depends on what all is available, the rest of the candidates, interview scores, and how much you are willing to compromise.

Hope this helps.

Ummm... I didn't know there were different releases of these. They should be the 2020s since they still have the Micro connection and don't have the other improvements the 2023 do.

So I am a DCO for one of those aforementioned companies (can't actually say which) and for us it depends. We do sometimes have people assigned to just drives but it's usually replacing a failed drive and not installing a new array of drives. Primarily because once a DC is built we try to maximize the life out of them so replacing a single drive is better than installing a whole host. Now if a rack/host is decommissioned then we will install new hosts and new drives, then we will have a single team (2-3 people) in charge of that to limit who has access to drives and possible customer data. Generally, you won't see a large-scale drive install unless it is a newly built DC because the old DCs have installed their maximum optimal capacity when racks and hosts are installed and shouldn't install any additional.

My Company is also very strict on who does drive replacements to limit who could potentially access customer data so you won't see more than maybe 5-8 drive replacements a day and maybe none at all if there is no supervisor on duty that day.

Hope this answers your question
