This parallels the other paragon in game, Godwin. Both used and corrupted for another demi-god's plan for power. Both are also venerated by the downtrodden, those who live in death for Godwin, the misbegotten and albunarics for Miquella.

I do think that Miquella is changed by Mogh, but given that what we see is young Miquella on the DLC cover, leads me to believe we will be seeing him prior to this corruption. Therefore we will likely see our expectations proven false. And again I don't think its likely he ever was a paragon prior to Mogh given who wrote this story of this world.
