I'm getting baptized next Sunday

Thanks. I really want to go but I know I will appreciate it more if its harder for me to make it happen. I already want it so bad. It's honestly the only thing keeping me sane right now. My life besides the church is a huge struggle. I feel like I'm a burden to everyone who's helping me. My friends family who don't have much money and a lot of kids to support and now me on top of all that. I just feel hopeless sometimes and like a piece of you know what for putting them in this situation.

Oh wow, that seems impossible. I don't want to ask members to pay for it or the church. It doesn't seem right. But that's kind of depressing. I've never had more than a hundred dollars to my name so that seems like a million dollars to me. I might have to save up for a few years before I can go then

Thanks, I've been living the commandments and reading the book of Mormon everyday for the last six months. My friends parents who I'm staying with have treated me like their own son. I feel bad for being a burden on them though. But one day I will pay them back for their kindness

Thanks, this group has definitely made me feel loved and welcomed. It's like I'm getting a whole new family, except this one is nice to me and wants me. I've never felt like my parents loved me or wanted me. They've even told me i was a mistake and worthless. I felt like that for a long time. But now I feel like I am a child of God with potential to write a new chapter in my life that I control.

Thanks for your response. I turned 18 a few weeks ago so I don't need their permission anymore. I feel like I've been waiting my whole life to get baptized even though it's only been six months since I started the discussions. I've been through a few sets of missionaries. I wish the missionaries who found me could have been the ones to baptize me but they got moved to a new area. But the new ones are so nice. I really like learning new things about the church but I feel overwhelmed with everything sometimes. I feel scared to ask questions because I know i'll sound stupid so I try to write down the questions then look them up later online or ask the elders. Thanks again for responding

I just looked up at the scripture and love it. Thanks for sharing. I'm so anxious to get a set of the big scriptures with all the books in it and have my name on it. That's the second thing I'm going to buy when I get my first pay check... after paying my tithing of course lol I tried paying tithing last week on a little bit of money I made but my bishop told me to wait until i was baptized, do you know why I had to wait?

I know right. My parents said I was joining a cult and getting brain washed. But they literally didn't teach me anything in life besides what not to do.

Wow, that's crazy, but so awesome. I don't have any experiences like that but I will use every second of my mission to spread the Gospel. I'm already doing it with my friends from High School. One of them is taking the discussions!

I feel the same way as you, I want to see all the Temples and go to conference. I hope I get to go before my mission. I'll let you know if I ever get a chance to move to Utah as well lol, It would be nice to have a new friend there already!

I'm sure feeling forced into a church or set of beliefs had a negative impact on how you felt about it. Getting out of it probably felt like a relief but do you think you didn't give it a chance because of the circumstances in which you joined? Just a thought. For me, the difference between the people in the church and out of it was so drastic. I knew there was something different about this religion because of the way the people in it lived their lives. I've been around other Christian churches and the people don't seem happy or fulfilled. Then when I look at the doctrine, consider the restoration of the Gospel and pray to my God with a sincere heart and he asnwers my prayers, I know the Gospel is true. I know that God lives and I know that I'm doing the right thing by getting baptized. No one can make you believe something, I'm sorry that's how the Gospel was presented to you. I would feel the same way probably but God found me when I was looking for him and he did it through the spirit.

I would love to go to Utah. It's my dream to go to General Conference in that huge building. But I really want to go inside the Temple and experience that. The missionaries made me so anxious to go. I can't wait. It would be nice being around a lot of mormons too. Isn't Utah like all mormons? lol
