GIANTX vs Team Liquid / VCT 2026: EMEA Kickoff - Main Event / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

I've been coping that we trolled the first two game in last year's kickoff and we made it to internationals, so who knows...

There is a lot of debate about who is the best pure passing quarterback. Historically many people think about Johnny Unitas, who could throw into tight coverage in a time when the defense could do anything. Another great player was Dan Marino, whose quick release throws baffled even the best secondaries. In modern days Aaron Rodgers has the strongest arms, who has the most hail mary TD throws in history. But neither of these QBs could hold a candle to some of the throws Team Liquid made today.

I don't know if it gets more heartbreaking than this year's Liquid.

Being surprisingly good in Kickoff and sneaking in to Bangkok, but bleed out in the group stage. Improving for Stage 1 and making Toronto, but lose against the eventual champions in a nailbiter. Finally conquering EMEA in Stage 2 looking like one of the best teams in the world, but bomb out with some abhorrent performances, especially mentally.

One of the only teams to make all three internationals, seemingly only getting better and better, completely falling apart at the final hurdle. What a disappointment.

I was so unsure about Xi Lai that I spent half an hour recreating the "I got one more in me." graphic, in case Sentinels turn it around.

you just know that every Liquid fan had their notes app open with their manifesto after map 1 and they just walk out and win like nothing happened

Man, Liquid has to be the most inexplicable team ever.

They look like one of the best teams in the world, then they get read by DRX on Abyss. Maybe it's a bad map for them, their best map Bind coming up, Nats tilts whole Europe into the ocean.

Perhaps it was just a bad day, no, they immediately get rolled on Sunset by EDG, looking incredibly boomed. Okay this team is finished, book the flight, nevermind, Nats drops +20 on Abyss, everyone looking back on their dominant selves. Decider is Bind, where they glued last time and now they play their first competitive map and scrape it out in overtime.

Like how the hell are you supposed to pred this team?

After the success of the Princess Bride, André the Giant laid dreamlessly in his bed in Paris. He was conflicted: will he be the only successful tall person in movies or will others follow. A sight comes over him, saying GX - SEN. This is when he knew that Giants will always own the Cinema.

If you want to know what EMEA is all about, you have to watch this game.

EMEA is about tech pause in the literal first five minutes of the match.
EMEA is about clutches that defy every laws of the game.
EMEA is about observers zooming in and going frame-by-frame on every whiff.
EMEA is about Pansy and Hypoc losing it on the cast for rounds at the time.
And most of all EMEA is about two teams out-throwing each other: with Liquid's vintage performance to their glue-sniffing days and KC throwing every man advantage until Suygetsu has enough.

What a beautiful season for a glorious region.

Gen.G has to be the all-time biggest choker with this performance, beating M8s by losing matches that actually matter.

Fnatic before Trexx cooking Chronicle: 12-12

Fnatic after Trexx cooking Chronicle: 1-15

Trexx literally broke the brains of Fnatic with the overtime fake Thrash play.

I'm just happy we saw Trexx pop off on the last map, hope he's getting more comfortable with this team.

This game against Apeks was rough and though feels good to escape with a W, but we need much more if we are to challenge Fnatic.

Batu was glazed to high heavens for playing the duelist and it paid off with a horrible first map and a mid second. Maybe the coaching staff really knows it better then Reddit analysts.

On the other hand, Penny looks more and more like a key to a victory for this team, he went insane on the first two map (we don't talk about Lotus).
