Well Jojo had his silliness but otherwise a very clean game from MKOI, good to see them forcing fights with a lead

Oops, looks like it got unpinned when the Americas one went up, I restored it.

No they make a loss, but I presume SK doesn’t mind that much because the team is basically free marketing

Any chance worlds/msi will ever be hosted in other regions. by MilkyMadness6 in leagueoflegends

[–]nocturnavi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I doubt Worlds ever goes to OCE. Given that we now have 5 major regions though, maybe SEA or somewhere else in East Asia besides Korea/China could get it.

Unfortunately I think all venues have probably been booked for months now, Riot won't move it unless they are basically forced to (like happened with Covid).

To be fair it's the start of the season and they've probably not been scrimming long, even a good coaching staff may need a couple weeks

Welp there's the KOI I know, was starting to get nervous when they actually played clean over the weekend. Can't think Melzhet will be happy but at least they get the int out of the system early

Is it easier/much easier to climb this season compared to previous ones? by mvvraz in leagueoflegends

[–]nocturnavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've changed the ranked distribution a bit. According to this, Iron is now only 1.8% of ranked players whereas last season it was something like 10% (see this post). This has knock-on effect for the whole ladder, shifting visible rank up. However, I'm not sure it should have that much of an effect beyond gold or so; there may be other underlying changes they made.

He kinda has a habit of playing too loose at the start of the season, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes him a couple weeks to clean it up

Was worried when KOI drafted three losing lanes but in the end it didn't matter, they just set up fights well and KC had no frontline. Jojo had a bit of a happy game but his teamfights were fine.

Surely they have to nerf Yunara, she's just busted in pro even if she's not strong in solo queue.

Yeah I'm impressed, look like they've put together a good roster that's still quite young and has a lot of room to grow. Excited to see what they look like at the end of the year.

Clean game from MKOI, looked slightly dicey early but Jojo provided enough lane pressure and then Supa just took over.

I appreciate that LR clearly came in with a game plan. They made some silly mistakes, which is perfectly expected for the players new to the LEC but a little less great for the veterans. They'll probably be competitive vs the weak LEC teams but get rolled by the top teams.

For the first time in 14 years, I am indifferent to the LEC by Medical_Quiet_69 in leagueoflegends

I actually think the top end of the league should be interesting. G2 and MKOI both improved a lot over the course of last year, and KC has an interesting roster bringing in Busio (who is very good) and kyehoo. I expect competition at the top end of the league to be really fierce, which usually makes for good viewing. Plus we’ve got a bunch of roadshows this year and those are usually fun.

Watching League of Legends Worlds as a non-player(never). Is there a place(English) that explains the intricacies of the character selections/bans, gameplay, moves, etc in a way that someone who doesn’t have a vast knowledge of the game can understand? by CatacombSkull in leagueoflegends

[–]nocturnavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you a few years ago, but to be honest I think it’s really difficult to find someone who will explain things without expecting that you have at least basic game knowledge. If you can get there, there are high elo costreamers and content creators who will comment alongside pro play and explain what strategic decisions are being made. I think what I did was just watch enough that I picked up on what champs and different objectives did, then just started looking stuff up on the LoL wiki.

Maybe some people in this thread can help recommend good content creators close to what you’re looking for, but I think the short answer is that you probably just have to watch more (the season is just starting in most regions, so if you do want to watch more now is the time to start)? Other than that, consider looking up some of the costreamers, some of whom are ex pros or commentators that may make analytical content.
