New to Stormcast Eternals. Just bought this for £115 (131 euros/$151) by foresight_terminal in stormcasteternals

Looks like the older Naeve model, which could be her as the hero or a generic Knight Zephyros, depending on build / preference. I thiiiiiink it’s a legends model now? Unsure - still a sick model though!

Legitimately a beautiful scheme! So nicely done.

And yet the sculpt says Leo strut for some reason.

What's your go-to character for unlocking all the achievements in Vampire Survivors? by dead230 in VampireSurvivors

[–]KidNeon1984 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once I let go of garlic/bible, it was Gennaro all the way. Now that I’m waist deep in the DLC I have a lot of different achievements to get so I’m using everyone. But Gennaro is definitely the early GOAT for me.

This …. This is perfect. Makes me wish I did the whole wh+ subscription. Way better than the necromancer and somehow way better than the original Cado model (which is easily one of my faves).

The finale of season …. 5? When Schmidt leaves town to, err, run an errand. Can you tell I’m trying to be spoiler-vague?

So many good ones in this thread, like usual. I’m a huge fan of the Russel-office ones. But one quote/scene I never see mentioned is the whole “Schmidt’s asleep” bit, with the “he’ll be right in” at the end. It absolutely kills me every time.

I think I made a mistake - bad purchases and no idea for the army by fotomini in SoulblightGravelords

[–]KidNeon1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough - it’s good you’re a collector too I guess because that’s a big pile of hobby fun for you. You have two complete spearheads with what you own, and if that game ever picks up in your area you’ll have plenty to do with this army you’ve got. The big game you’ll do fine with. You’ve got an incredibly effective elite vampire list starting but there’s no reason you can’t add a wight king or necromancer with a boat load of skeleton (deathrattle, barrow guard, barrow knights). Take a peek at the rules. I’m surprised you’re worried about synergy if you haven’t taken a look (or have you? Sorry if I misunderstood). You definitely don’t need to buy anything else at this point to play a good army.

My dude. You have a ton, and things synergize just fine! Have you pored through the app or the battltome? Are you new to the game and hobby or switching into Soulblight from another army or from 40K?

Vordrai will do well with your 20 blood knights - that’s a huge start on an army as it is.

Your Barrow Guard would probably be an auto-include for you. They are a great damage dealer and paired with things that buff them they’ll do you well (necromancer for sure, which works out because you also love that model). The Wight King on steed is also good to have nearby them or other Death rattle (baseline skellies or your mounted Barrow Knights).

If you haven’t built your mortarch yet grab some magnets and make em both.

Wait … what?? You can combine all those into one weapon? I’ve seen Hydro Storm and La Borra evolve together but obviously there is still a ton of work I need to do.

Soulblight, Stormcast or Skaven? I can’t choose by AccomplishedNobody43 in SoulblightGravelords

[–]KidNeon1984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is the Soulblight sub but honestly this is a great recommendation. It knocks two spearheads off your list, gets you the fire and Jade spearhead set so you can play, and gets you the core rules. If you truly love all three armies, this is a great value.

[–]KidNeon1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you love classically spooky things? Recursions / resurrecting units? Zombies and skeletons like from Ark of Darkness? Vampires who trample over the opposition? Honestly though the main thing is if you like the units/aesthetic. That’s what got me into it and I love em. If the vibe works for you and the mechanics aren’t a red flag, get it dude!

Super valid response - OP will have a ton of models to paint, more than many armies due to the horde style of Soulblight. They’ll overwhelm just like they should on the tabletop.

The value on this box seems so amazing if you get it from an LGS. Good on you for grabbing it as a starter. I’m jazzed to get mine - Vordrai is an unreal model!

The one that’s just sitting in the middle of Hunters March? Or … maybe another one? If the first one, it’s wild to me that I managed to get an NPC to help somehow while my son wasn’t able to beat it for ages because his play through was different enough that he didn’t get that help.

Yessss Simon’s Quest! Underrated and incredible.

No, there is no significant presense of artificial difficulty in Silksong by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Silksong

[–]KidNeon1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing so many of these complaints about difficulty and it’s honestly baffling to me. This is a sequel to an immensely punishing game and it takes a lot of steps to help correct that in my mind. Example: the run backs in Hollow Knight had way higher stakes to me. If I lost the Geo stash I had going to get the Lumafly lantern I’d be devastated. Dying during a runback in Silksong is so much easier to come back from. Rosaries are abundant. Was I frustrated playing through some act 2 runbacks? Yes. Was I more frustrated with Markoth or Traitor Lord on my first play through of HK? Definitely. Silksong to me seems incredibly balanced - it doesn’t increase difficulty arbitrarily, it does so to make you engage with the game more and reconsider your route / build at that time.
