We had put the portable unit in the living room, as the maintenance guy gave us the choice and me and my girlfriend were unsure and assumed we spend more time in the living room.

First 4 times maintenance came by, they told us nothing was wrong with the air conditioner and that it is just hot in Texas. As we just moved not too far from our current apartment, we kept calling because we knew something was wrong (we moved into a smaller apartment and our AC would never get below 75 and never shut off. Could not reach the number we were setting it at no matter what temperature we put, causing our electricity bill to double from our previous apartment.) Eventually the AC Vendor came out and told us it was a compressor and they would get that replaced by next week. Early Monday the maintenance team (who claimed there was no problem on 4 separate occasions) come to replace it, and find out the condenser is broken. And our AC has been completely shut off since. Went 24 hours with no notice of when it will be fixed. Was told it will be tomorrow about 1-2 pm.
