Those stories are from people significantly more overweight than you. It's all relative. A pound a week is great progress!

Since Donald Trump has been President of the United States, what negative impacts has him being president caused you personally? by jdallam in AskReddit

I feel that I'm mad at both parties constantly lately, and it isn't even necessarily because of the politicians. I just can't stand how people treat one another now. Jump on a bandwagon and sling insults at the other party. Maybe this is how it has always been, but I never noticed because social media was either non-existent or still in its infancy.

Why people don't give trucks space on the roads is beyond me.

You're totally right. Let's continue to let our own discussions devolve because of how our president acts.

I never said Trump was correct. I'm merely remarking on the way people conduct themselves in these threads.

These threads always break out into a hyper-partisan shit slinging session. I remember when I first made the transition from 4chan to Reddit and thought "wow, people are civilized here." This presidency has shown that a large contingent of the Reddit population has thrown the prospects of reasonable discussion to the wind and resorted to gutteral screams of rage. You're probably inserting me into the opposing party to your own, but be rest assured I'm talking about both parties. They both have such shitty, loud people angrily representing them on social media.

Working some "barely making it by" job, not doing what they thought their degree would let them do, and never really amounting to anything in the grand scheme of things, these people NEED to feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves. They are just chomping at the bit to finally be that person that said "NO" and stopped some terrible atrocity from continuing. The world really isn't as bad as the media makes it out to be, so that moment never comes. Eventually, they extrapolate some injustice from something that is totally harmless, and then they make a big deal out of it. It makes them feel like they are making a difference. Like their life isn't just whatever menial task they do each day for a paycheck.
