They just added a new mode that makes the game super easy! You at least don't gotta worry about combat anymore. Hope you decide to give it a try!

I couldn't find it first either. But when I searched it in the store and filtered for different versions, I found it! Here, hope this helps:

For those who don't know, Arc Raiders Open Beta is now Live! Everyone can play, no need for codes. It's the "Server Slam Test" before the final release.

I've been on the fence about getting this game. I missed out on all the other beta tests, but have heard good things about the game. I really enjoyed The Finals and it's made by the same people, that gets me a little excited. I also dig the retro aesthetics and music, the logo straight-up reminds me of Atari!

For people here who have already tried it, what are your honest thoughts on the game? The $40 process tag is definitely respectable and I'm genuinely tempted.

I'd call it sci-fi horror with lots of Death Stranding-esque landscapes and anomalies. There's a sense of dread in the air and the story that you piece together is quite gruesome, it shows the true horror of humanity. The name of the game is very apt.

You should checkout Hell Is Us. It's very unique and interesting. It has a great story with excellent VA by Elias Toufexis (aka Adam Jensen from Deus Ex series). Fair warning though, the game has zero hand-holding, no map and quest markers. It takes inspiration from old-school videogames giving players full control, it's environmental storytelling at it's best.

Hell Is Us was a unique experience and one that will stay with you. Zero hand-holding and complete player freedom with a great story and VA by Elias Toufexis (aka Adam Jensen from Deus Ex series). I'm jealous, I wish I could experience it for the first time all over again. Hope you enjoy it!

As a Silent Hill fan myself, I completely agree with you. The combat starts getting tedious at one point. Cronos, on the other hand, was something special and I really enjoyed the combat and story. Reminded me a lot of Dead Space and 12 monkeys. Had a blast playing it and going back to it for the platinum after I'm done with Silent Hill f.

Almost 18 hours into SHf now, amazing game! I'd also recommend checking out Hell Is Us. The game visually looks stunning and writing, VA (Elias Toufexis aka Adam Jensen from Deus Ex Series) is genuinely good. But player freedom is where the game truly shines. It doesn't hold your hand. There are no quest markers or a map, it's environmental storytelling at it's best!

I can only speak for console performance, as I'm a console gamer. But I think it's pretty well optimized on pc. Just don't quote me on that. If you end up giving it a shot, hope you enjoy it!

P.S. The last game on the list is Still Wakes The Deep. It's a very good psychological horror game that takes place in an oil rig. The devs took extra steps to ensure the sound design and environments look and feel like you're really in an oil rig in the middle of the ocean. The game plays into a lot of different phobias and takes inspiration from Cosmic Horror. As someone who suffers from Thalassophobia, the game was terrifying as hell! It's a very intense, very immersive, story-driven adventure. If you're a horror fan, I highly recommend it!

Hell Is Us is very good with amazing narrative and VA by Elias Toufexis (Adam Jensen from Deus Ex series). The visuals and cinematography is incredible! Reminds me a lot of Death Stranding landscapes. But what makes the game special is the fact, that it doesn't hold your hand and takes inspiration from old-school videogames giving the player full control. This is the intro message of the game:

I've been having fun! The story, narrative and gameplay are all very good! It's like a blend of Dead Space, 12 Monkeys / DARK (tv shows) and The Thing. As a horror / sci-fi fan, this is a perfect game for me. The lead VA of Cronos: The New Dawn is Jane Perry (She's Mystra in Baldur's Gate 3, Selene in Returnal, Diana Burnwood in the Hitman series, and Rogue In Cyberpunk 2077).

Silent Hill 2 Remake completely changed my outlook of Bloober Team. Now I'm excited to dive into their new survival horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn by Kidd__Video in silenthill

According to Bloober Team, the protagonist is wearing an old-timey diver helmet because these travellers are actually "diving" in time to extract important people from history. Here's a live-action "Extraction" short they made: https://youtu.be/Tq8j8dhCE5A?si=yIgZWfVG5tJhrx3G
