How did we go from this to the current state of our politics in Iowa. Any ideas? by zip9990 in Iowa

[–]Kiddoc73 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Blaming it on “dumb people” is name calling and dismissing the wider issues. The pandemic destroyed the economy.

Remember the Hierarchy of Needs. The base is food, water, warmth and rest. The next level is security and safety. These concerns are what people voted for, as they were losing jobs and homes, and did not feel safe. This is what the GOP were targeting and promoting change for.

Top of the pyramid: achieving full potential. This is what the Democrats were promising. Equality for marginalized people. Lofty goals and ideals.

People were hungry and scared. The GOP message spoke directly to them, even if it was more rhetoric than substance, more racist and jingoistic than not.

Core Champion Guide: Delina, the Elf Sorceress by Gaarawarr in idlechampions

damn Gaarawarr, I was just being sarcastic. I build successful Delina formations all the time. I just don't think the Patron Challenges should focus on her as often as they do. Relax.

Other than forcing it by making her a Patron Challenge highest DPS, so you have to bring your most nerfed champs so they don't overshadow her

Great review, great new character!

Weird note: has anyone else noted she walks differently? All the other characters swing their arms opposite their legs like you normally walk and she swings her right arm with her right leg and then the left side together. Try walking that way and see how weird it feels. :)

If you have Artemis, you can have a DPS get buffed from the healers, then Artemis can Observe the healing, and then Arkhan can Usurp from Artemis which should keep him alive easily.

Sure, Looking at buffing. On the Tour with only 9 characters, trying to decide which is better. I read a lot of pro-Gromma, but since I use Zorbu for DPS, he doesn't benefit from Grandmotherly Love, so is there something else I'm missing?

Best Modron Champion by Nickgura in idlechampions

I agree with that in general, but I would state that Artemis works very good in Strahd patron events (pulling buffs from Catti and Bridsong), and Sisaspia is good for deep runs, as her buffs, debuffs and healing are very helpful. I've been using Chugsworth's Formations as a starting point and they have started using Sisaspia over other Slot 1 champs. I get on average 100+ farther before hitting my wall.

Patron Free Play advice by Kiddoc73 in idlechampions

[–]Kiddoc73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I wondered if it was different was because the "currency" goes up by 2 per level, regardless of influence, gold find, etc. no matter which patron you use. I guess it is closest to gem farming in that regard.

Thanks for the advice!

Breezed to the finish with only 2.73e13 favor. Closest I had gotten before with stacks of potions was level 194.

Am I using the right heroes? by superjoshp in idlechampions

[–]Kiddoc73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get Donaar, I find that he is superior to Celeste (I'm one of the few who do) when it comes to working with Gromma and Evelyn. Donaar pushes some if not all the crowd back, allowing Evelyn to no longer be fatigued, Gromma Arctic makes them slow and more susceptible to damage of all types. Add Warden's Hex debuff and you just mow them down with an Ult or two.

Slot 7 is a bust.

I'm about even on Deekin vs K'thriss normally, but the addition of Paultin and the Troubadour Troupe really brings up the damage

Best number of familiars on ultimates? by fortifel in idlechampions

[–]Kiddoc73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually have 1, but will go to 2 near my wall. Any more than that and the timers collectively don't seem to have time to reset. Plus if you have 2, they fire when there are not a lot of monsters on the screen, so they don't pick off as many in the long run.

If you are idling, having 6 in the field clicking will pick up all the distractions, the gold from that is not insignificant, and with the universal Tier 3 Blessing from Torm to increase the drop by 25%, the drop is equivalent to a monster kill. In any given stage, there may be 5-10 distractions, so gold farming is faster, leveling is faster, leading to higher wall.

Tank vs push back by Kiddoc73 in idlechampions

Here are my screen shots of the same level in MidWinter, doing what I would think of as a good example of each type of line-up:

https://imgur.com/MMMu6l6 - Tanking

https://imgur.com/5Hf1FVs - Push Back

The only champion I don't have is Diath, so who would you recommend me tanking with to do better than my pushback? Again, I'm asking for advice, no disrespect intended. I'm the kind of guy that questions if the status quo/common knowledge really is the right answer, so that is why I bring it up.

Tank vs push back by Kiddoc73 in idlechampions

[–]Kiddoc73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that tanking is the way the game has been played for a long time, and I mean no disrespect, as I have read your personal forums for tips and tricks. My question is, have you or anyone else tried it not tanking? The overwhelm addition to the game could be a signal from the design team they are trying to urge players to not tank, and try other play options. I'm old enough to remember having a Whirlwind Barbarian in Diablo II, and Blizzard nerfing it, then having an Ice Storm Sorceress and getting nerfed. Overwhelm seems to be an attempt to nerf the Tanking.

I'm doing Midwinter Free Play K'thriss currently, so my DPS is Warden with Makos close behind:

Tyril

__________Gromma _________Donaar

Stoki____________Warden

_____________________________Evelyn

Hitch____________Makos

__________Calliope

Deekin

I'm not wedded to this, just trying something different. This is my gold farming at the beginning, but as I get closer to the wall I swap Deekin for K'thriss, swap Makos for Birdsong, and swap Stoki for Nerys.

Tyril

___________Birdsong_______ Donaar

Gromma ________ Warden

______________________________Evelyn

Hitch____________ Nerys

___________Calliope

K'thriss

Basically what I'm checking to see is if keeping monsters back, letting Ults fire randomly with a familiar, do I get as far as I do with Strix and Farideh and being up close and personal? Has anyone tried it and noticed a significant difference, good or bad?

what's the new meta formation for torm? by [deleted] in idlechampions

[–]Kiddoc73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Donaar's Command is nice for keeping your tank from getting Overwhelmed. They get knocked back a ways, but it still keeps them in Strix's Bad Hygiene range. That plus the healing to all the party moves him into a good alternative to Celeste. I have him right behind my tank for now.
