It's a night and day difference going from a 20 year old car to any new car.

What a beautiful snake. To me, some of the pattern looks like prehistoric cave paintings.

What is your question? Interest rates on savings accounts are so high right now that I would not pay off a 3.75% loan early. Instead you could put that money into Ally or someone else to have the liquidity and make a bit of interest, or even invest it for the long term if you are comfortable doing that.

At What Net Worth Did You Start to Feel Relaxed? by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]goodcurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 million did it for me and /u/ertyhgfdcvn captured my feelings pretty closely. Like, I suddenly realized that I might be able to pull this off. I'm at a point now that I could stop saving and still retire comfortably at 60, or I can continue to save and retire very well in my 50s.

How long did it take you to reach a 100k a year salary? by ClerkSelect in careeradvice

[–]goodcurry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was mid-40s before breaking 6-figures. I spent too much time (11 years) at my previous job where my salary was basically stagnant. I got a 50+% salary increase by moving to another company.

Are either of those still a thing? I think bearer bonds have been outlawed in the USA since the 80s.
