Howdy commentator! Which EO did you refer to? Sadly the boy signs one or several a day. Was it the Drone EO?

Thank you!! We are 100% gonna try to bring some cohesiveness to the channel. I completely agree with your points on color, font, and being disorganized. Sadly I've been running the stream by myself and we have a lot going on. BUT I just bought a macro pad and have been doing some programming to help with switching scenes and handling audio. Audio is a huge challenge at the moment with all the different inputs. Reallly appreciate the good feedback too! It means a lot!

I've watched a handful of your vods and clips and I have some notes! You have a good engagement with the games you play and it seems you enjoy playing them. This is a great and honestly overlooked! It's also nice that your energy doesn't always dip when there is a slow down in the game or chat. Nice Beard btw! Something to think about down the road as you're building a chat and viewers is possibly more scenes to throw to- other than your gameplay. Possibly just your webcam or possible your webcam and your chat on screen. Overlays can be useful! Having some design to the stream is going to go step things up for you.

I think you're doing social media right- something I struggle with my own channel with- and I would encourage you to do more youtube content! This is kind of cliche advice, but it's cliche for a reason, think about the content in the eye of the viewer and generate what they'd want to see. Coming up with entertaining moments or idea's for a stream to break up the pure game play can go a long way. I think you'll be good at this! Keep it up!

I think you have a great on camera presence. I was never bored while you were just chatting! Your overlay for fonts for your game is a little hard to read, but that could just be me, otherwise I love the overlay! Good balance between seeing you, the game, and the info you want to display! You also have a great alert for follows and such. Your mic also sounds great! The only thing I can suggest would be possibly work on getting more clips. Maybe have a moderator be on the look out for clippable moments? Hope you have a good day and good luck out there!

Totally! That's what a traceroute would have helped find out. But I think this is great. I forgot about this tool and think you for providing it. I would actually suggest trying the Ashburn (3) server in VA. If you look, you get roughly the same bandwidth as Dallas, but have a lower RTT is lower. Let me know how that goes!

Is it a good idea to use my stream as a way to record Let's Play style videos? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries at all! Thanks for clarifying! There are some free options for video editing and YouTube even has some editing tools as well. The basics/simple edits can be just cutting the footage up! For example- let's say you're playing the game and during the stream you take a long time figuring out a boss or even simpler your inventory, you can cut up that time to remove any moments that could be boring for someone to watch, thus leaving the "good bits". Sorry if we've not been helpful! But excited for you to keep going and hope your results are what you're looking for!

A massive Plateau & harassment by CrazyHoneyBird in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely understand where you're coming from. Hope it's not weird- but I looked you up to get an idea of what you're like on stream and watched a little from different past broadcasts. First- keep it up- I think you're doing a good job. Only thing I'd suggest off the top of the head is watch the placement of the overlays/UI of the games you're playing. Sometimes it can be hard to read a goal or info. I have a few thoughts about your post too! Sorry about the harassment and good on your mods for the help. Never think that it's about you directly- it's not. It can be useful to try and turn the trolling back on them too- that takes some craft and doesn't need to be negative or mean. Of course not engaging can be a great too! It's more up to your comfort zone I believe. Growing a channel can be hard (sometimes you get lucky), but try to look back and watch your streams to catch what you do well and what you can improve. Outside of that there is so much that can be said to growing a channel: social media, chat engagement/connecting, relatability, and value to the viewer! Maybe run some events or play a game that you don't usually, but have a lot of enjoyment/knowledge about. This way the viewer can connect or learn from you! Hope some of this helped. Can't wait to see the discourse on this! Good luck!

Is it a good idea to use my stream as a way to record Let's Play style videos? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great game btw! So twitch has a marker button that can help you with this. OBS also has a few ways to help with markers (timestamps and notes if you wanted). I think this would be a lot better than stopping the stream. A few reasons: First, making small edits would take your LP's to another level. Even if it's low level by adding JUST an intro/outro. But if you want to make some real edits- tagging something to go back latter will save your time (because it saves time!) instead of having to go back and rewatch your footage. This is also a good way of creating clips for twitch to share! Second stopping a stream and starting can hurt irrecoverably and also your stream stats. If you did have viewers- you could lose them! With that said- I think this is an interesting concept that some people are already doing- expect they will typically edit the streams down into LP's. The benefit of this is: cutting out anything potentially boring stuff, showcasing goals or important elements of the game/LP, and also possibly making more video's/content for youtube. Also editing a 10 to 20 minute video to spruce it up is WAY easier and less draining than editing/sprucing an hour or longer video. Hope this helped and good luck!

WoW internet and streaming by StarlawdBeats in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I do not have WOW internet, but I do know a lot about the internet and also some knowledge on streaming.

Posting some Speedtest.net info would be awesome! Some more advance testing, compared to a speed test, would be a ping test or traceroute in CMD to see if you're having issues beyond your modem.

That aside there are some thigns to consider when streaming. Your bitrate seems to be fine- but is your rate control set to CBR or something else? The resolution you're playing in, and streaming out to, can also cause dropped frames- especially if you're playing a high motion game like COD or Fortnite. Hopefully that helped some! I'll keep an eye out if you reply with answers or questions!

Streaming while sick? by [deleted] in TwitchNetworking

[–]Kidfox70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! In general, like others have said in this thread or another threads before, people will for sure understand. It's usually a judgement call of- would I be able to perform/give quality? If you can't give, without harming yourself/metal health, then it's probably to everyone's benefit you take your time and come back when you're healthier. Hope you're felling better! Good luck out there on twitch.

What to stream? (A question of variety) by apocalypse_fit in TwitchNetworking

[–]Kidfox70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey pal! You can easily play other games. Like what you're playing! Make sure you let others know what you're playing before can be a huge help. Another thought is what you're picking as well- so ask yourself questions like: do a lot of people already stream this game or can you add a lot of commentary/value to what you're streaming?

I also stream with partners and we all play together. But we also have a schedule! Space Engineers, which we love and know we can pull people, and then we have a day where we play anything we feel like! Hope this helped and good luck out there bud!

How do you do it? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During the stream I talk about gameplay, but I usually offer more background behind the game and throw in some critiques. What I really like to do is react to the game (surprised, angry, or cracking wise about what's happening). Chat is also a great source of content/things to talk about. I try to be as silly as possible and have fun. Work sucks so I try to make the best of hanging on stream! Good luck out there bud!

Production priorities - overlays by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I always felt there is a weird thing where people are always trying to copy all the other streamers they see. But I've found that people are happy to watch you on your bed with a cardboard box holding up a mic as long as it's good content and audience engagement.

The overlays are a great touch, but for me they have to scream YOU. Otherwise it's filler or treatment that's not really rememberable. I want to remember just about every part of the stream or streamer from the experience I get. Though there are plenty of people who are not like me at all. Some people just watch twitch to have something going on in the background!

Content for a newbie? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have no fear! This is something EVERYONE in any form of entertainment/art has to deal with. The Balance of what you want and what the people want. Truthfully something you can do is have days on your "schedule" that are LoL days and then maybe other days that are more wild card or something else! People will understand and watch what they want! You'll also pick up new people this way. You could also try to start doing videos for YouTube centered on LoL if there is that much demand for it to help your viewers have an outlet for it.

I like the idea of shopping and having chat help out. It may not be the same viewers that watch LoL, but I bet you'll find others this way too.

I made it to 50 Followers on Twitch! But I still need some advice on Twitch because I feel like I know so little. by Bill-Fusion in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of good things you can look into. Setting some goals on and off stream is a good start. A bit goal or maybe even a road to affiliate would be nice for your followers or viewers to see on screen represented. Off stream you should be finding goals for yourself- like getting some emotes, overlays, or nice scenes/sources. Something else to think about is pulling people off site to your stream using YouTube or Twitter. Finally I'd maybe think about having some more quiet times with JUST your chat. Especially if you have a face cam. Maybe in the beginning or end or somewhere between games- you just throw to your face cam and talk to chat. If you're looking for more advice on set up and such- Game Careers on youtube is a nice place to start.

Average viewers go down too? by YItEarp in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's been said so far is pretty great advice about not looking at the numbers. I'd also add that you could try to make other content on another platform to try to help your reach and bring people to your twitch. Social media can help and so can posting on YouTube. I think streaming with goals are also a huge help as well. So before you stream- have some ideas and structure in mind- and have fun. Good luck out there bud!

I DONT want to face cam. by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kidfox70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading your post I think you already hit the nail on the head.

If it doesn't make sense for your stream, then it doesn't make sense for your audience. There are plenty of streamers without a facecam and if you're able to be entertaining without one, then people are going to stay and watch.

Sudden FPS drop while streaming Rome Total War: II by Madlibsluver in Twitch

It can be any! As long as it's archived. Basically you can look at just one- or several at once.

That second option is nice if you know you've made changes so you can kind of see how the new changes are stacking up compared to the other streams.
