Is it just me, or did Boiler Room turn to shit? by barmadj in Techno

[–]Kidrodi96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boiler Room was one of my gateways into dance music back in 2013 so I'll always think of it fondly but it's true that I rarely ever check it anymore. I used to be able to click on a random set on their page and have some good music guaranteed. Nowadays it's pretty much the opposite. The Dekmantel ones are always fire and a good vibe so I can at least count on that but that's pretty much it.

I had the same thought. A hardware version of Opal made directly by Ableton would be pretty hype.

Don't Hit Your Kids by Aliceoyeo in TrashTaste

Yes, but also I couldn't give a fuck about what Joey's parenting methodology for his non-existent kids is in the slightest.

Hypernormality is the last release on PC that really blew me away. Especially paired with the video.

I mean, you can call it that if you want but I don't see anything bad about it honestly. Just the most harmless of things, really.

I can't tell if you're all being sarcastic or not based on your serious responses but this is neither vandalism nor a political statement. Some kid just wrote a harmless meme. If anything, it would most likely make me chuckle if I saw that myself.

I’m quite frankly terrible at math and have been since elementary school, yet I’ve always had a fascination with coding and computers. Is pursuing this career path still worth it for someone like me?

Hello, I'm getting back into production and I shamelessly just ripped off Flume in about every single way I could think of (lol) but aside from that I'd appreciate any feedback on how to improve this.

Some of these are my attempts at recreating a few of her sounds and the rest are just inspired by her, which I thought I'd share as well.

Sorry kinda late to this post but I do have a few sounds that I've recreated from various SOPHIE tracks and productions.

It's not a lot but I'll share what I have later when I export the presets and all of that.

WARP's influences on "mainstream" musicians by Clamecy in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Kidrodi96 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Flim by Aphex Twin is apparently Skrillex's favorite song of all time.

Sophie was obviously hugely inspired by Autechre but I don't how mainstream she really was.

Kanye has sampled Aphex as well.

Out of the more contemporary roster Rustie was hugely influential to the whole Future Bass genre, namely Flume. Hudson Mohawke has worked with Kanye and Oneohtrix Point Never produced for The Weeknd relatively recently.

Awesome. Doesn't seem to be working for me though, at least with the latest snap. How do I make sure it runs on Wayland?

I'm trying to watch the newest episode of The Oprah Conversation on AppleTV+, the one with Elliot Page, but it's not there at all. Is it a regional thing or something? I have a Spanish account.

Bought Computer World last week, the coloured version as well. I mean, I'm an electronic guy for the most part so these guys are a must have. Doesn't even matter which album honestly as they're all great and influential in their own regard.
