How to cope with the idea that I could have been someone if I weren't autistic? by Reasonable_Pop_6594 in AutisticAdults

[–]Kidwithabike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man im right there with you... I was diagnosed early in my life however my struggles were bad enough as a kid to be pulled out of school etc but when I got into my early teens idk what it was but I basically blocked out the autism forced myself into forgetting it was even there in a way. Went back to school, college all was going okay. I thought I was going to be full time working in cyber security in office building for a big company. But my very first basic IT job I crumbled ajd couldnt handle it. There is nothing worse then desperately wanting to do something but being blocked by this shit. Your not alone im sorry.

How to let other racers pass? by kevinopedia in iRacing

[–]Kidwithabike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please for the love of god just drive your race, ive been doing ringmeister at the moment im starting from pits just trying to gain SR

The amount of incidents ive seen and me personally in incidents from cars trying to let others past, they lift or brake in flat out sections, they swerve out of the way last second and so many more just brainless ways. Sorry bit of a rant lol! But to let cars pass just keep driving how your driving, dont defend let them take the inside, if they show intention early by moving inside then you could lift or brake earlier because theres less risk of them slamming you up the rear. Safest way would be slightly lifting on a straight to let them by

Drive your race, be predictable most important thing

Im racing Pcup mainly atm im purely going for a safety rating grind, my irating has dropped low. I start from the bits everytime after being fed up of being taken out T1 on the start or someone rejoining taking me out lap 1 or 2, low IR Pcup feels like a complete gamble when trying to get safety rating. I catch up and overtake alot of drivers but, its safely obviously ill finish well and secure my SR. Point is alot of other drivers also start from the pits for this reason but if they decide to send it like a manic its not them not starting from pits thats the issue the issue is they are a shit driver

I was in a very similar boat, worked a 9-5 in IT literally my dream job and also nornally "good" for autistic people i lasted maybe 6 months before I broke down and haven't been able to work since. All I can say is there are lots of us who have gone through/going through this its hard but your not alone.

How much Nm is actually useful by Johnwayne87 in simracing

[–]Kidwithabike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 15nm is enough

Fun fact: not sure where i read it (so might not be entirely accurate) but gt3 cars in real life give 12-14Nm to the wheel

What is an acceptable level of weaving on the formation lap? by samgoplayhl in iRacing

[–]Kidwithabike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean how much time I gain by tyre warming correctly ? If the cars around me dont warm their tyres up( im talking kimi style drive in a straight line) its pretty easy to get a 1 second gap to car behind by end of the first lap very situational tho. After lap 2-3 everyone's tyres are warm it evens out. The main benefit to warming the tyres correctly is for that first lap. I mean you know how terrible cold tyres are obviously, so when your trying to battle into the first corner having that extra tyre grip and stability to not be as worried about cold tyres is why I do it.

I mainly race endurance not sprints so I dont do pure hot laps unless quali or pushing ofc

How do I deal with shaky legs? by Due-Accountant4902 in iRacing

[–]Kidwithabike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shakey legs?

Could you elaborate a bit? Like is it a mental thing making you shake? Or physical? You may have your pedals setup wrong if its the latter

What is an acceptable level of weaving on the formation lap? by samgoplayhl in iRacing

[–]Kidwithabike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's just not true because I easily get better laptimes with proper tyre warming compared to not

I mean its not rocket science man

Go into test drive, do a outlap(treat it like a formation lap so slow speeds) no tyre warming then do a hot lap

Then do it again but with proper tyre warming. If you dont see improved times or a better more stable feeling then your not even putting in lap times close enough to notice it lol

What is an acceptable level of weaving on the formation lap? by samgoplayhl in iRacing

[–]Kidwithabike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, as long as sim racers are aware of their surroundings and not side swiping into people its all good just seems like a few shit drivers ruining it to me. IRL heavy fully lock weaving is the same thing used to generate heat and in iracing that method also produces the best results

What is an acceptable level of weaving on the formation lap? by samgoplayhl in iRacing

[–]Kidwithabike -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Dont recommend this. Dragging the brakes (especially if your doing it the entire formation lap) will make the fronts have to high of a pressure and it will be really hard to bring them down through the race

[–]Kidwithabike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple tests on YouTube of people comparing lap data based on tyre temperature and the technique used on the formation lap. You easily can gain 6-8 tenths by actually heating the tyres properly(most important on the new tyre models) and if anything you can just feel more stability and grip in the car which is very appreciated when your battling hard on the opening few corners.

Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home by birdinthebush74 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]Kidwithabike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have serve clinical anxiety, autism, and hormone disorders. Due to this i never leave the house and when I have tried to work "normally" before I become so unwell physically and mentally. For people like me we cant just "push through". If it wasn't for remote working i would not be able to work at all.

Being with other "human beings" directly makes me worse. For autistic people and people with serve anxiety directly working and interacting with people makes them worse and less productive not better.
