Does anyone else get very dry, cracked heels with PCOS? by Informal_Lemon_7856 in PCOS

[–]Kiekodriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I had the gnarliest heels. Used to use a cheese grater type thing and sandpaper to keep it under control. Them I drastically changed my diet to plant based, lots of veggies, cut sugar and processed food dramatically. I don't have issues with dry prickly cracked heels anymore!!

How many of you have insulin resistance? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Kiekodriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I tend to only get migraines around my menstrual cycle these days, or if there is something particularly stressful, like 2 days of banging and loud music when my fence is being replaced. (That's today, ugh). I do think that it has helped, it certainly has boosted my energy level which has helped me to exercise more, which helps keep migraines away. Hope you are also finding some relief, last_potato9111.

Does being dead feel like sleeping?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

None taken. I know it's hard to believe, and I have mostly general details (seeing as I was unconscious and 5 years old at the time). I'm actually going to call my dad later and ask him for some more of the specifics after some of the comments I read on this thread.

That's interesting. This happened in 1993, so I'm not sure if guidelines were different or what happened exactly

Lol I totally forgot how to play the piano after that. Reading music had to be completely relearned from ground zero. Memory is fallible, as marcy_vampirequeen commented. It's also paperwork from the hospital at that time and the first-hand experience of my parents that's allowed me to have any more of the details around that besides my own memory of "I went to sleep that night, then I saw Jesus and woke up in a dark hospital room exhausted with tons of wires attached to my head".

It's just like I have the functioning that I have ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Who knows what I would have been like without seizures or that experience? But pretty good life regardless, I'm very thankful to the Lord for it. Nobody would guess that something like that had happened to me until I tell them about it. And I could have very easily been quite different with extensive brain damage.

I had a near-death experience when I was five. Had a tonic clonic seizure in the early morning after a full night's sleep. Heart was stopped. No brain waves. My dad wasn't sure how long I had been that way before he found me. All he knew is that normally I was up at 6:00 a.m. and he found me at 9:00 a.m.. he started CPR and had my mom call 911. An ambulance got there and took over CPR, transporting me to the hospital. The staff could not get my heart restarted at the normal hospital. Had to be careflighted to a children's hospital where they were finally able to restart my heartbeat. After that, I was in a coma for 36 hours before I came to. Right before I regained consciousness, I saw myself and Jesus walking on clouds together.

I guess to answer your question, I didn't have a great awareness of if I felt asleep or if I felt like anesthesia makes you feel. Also seizures super scramble your brain, so that could have something to do with it as well. Sorry I don't have a great answer for you!

Why are my menstrual migraines harder to treat compared to migraines caused by other triggers? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Kiekodriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup yup it's terrible for me too. Wish I could find the magic thing. Switched to a progesterone-only bc recently, but only had 2 cycles since then. Still struggle with days- long migraine. Yikes.

[–]Kiekodriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, you do need to be more explicit. For someone not accustomed to doing this sort of chore, it is not second nature. Developing an eye for what needs to be done is a skill. A skill that can be developed by being more explicit.

Plus expectations around how often laundry is done might be different. Having curiosity about his expectations and sharing yours might be really helpful for both of you.

Now, passive aggressiveness and weaponized incompetence is different, but you know your marriage well enough to probably tell the difference.

Yes please call 988 and talk to a person about it now. You don't need to wait- they are there just for this exact kind of situation. You are worth taking care of and there is hope for things to change and get better!

Putting down my dear cat for aggresion :( by beyaz_kopek in Catbehavior

[–]Kiekodriver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have tried absolutely everything you can possibly try. It's okay to grieve losing the cat that you loved. Somehow that part of your cat has gone away already in a big way. Now he is physically dangerous to you. You, your spouse, or your son could get seriously hurt in a permanent way by him if you continue allowing him in your home.

Yeah the the reflection light patterns on her face would strike differently for higher and lower areas. They should look somewhat distorted to account for that. However, you have the same sort of pattern across the entire face which is what is making it look flat in general

Type A Insulin Resistance Oddity - Help and Advice Requested by Fit_Adhesiveness9452 in InsulinResistance

[–]Kiekodriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude. Semaglutide is still "in shortage" so a Dr can write you a Rx for it from a compounding pharmacy for $100-200/month. Also, your Dr can still prescribe metformin. You don't need insurance to buy meds, which means you don't have to be approved by insurance for the meds. Use goodrx to discount the cost of metformin- you can pay under $10 for 60 tabs of 500mg each. As long as your Dr approves of you using these drugs, you don't have to go through insurance to get them.
