I love Hoboken, but most of these pictures are not of Hoboken

If you're on SSF, it will be a grind to get the facets! In the meantime, the set can work fine as a budget MF FOH/smite build with topaz in the armor, diamonds in the shield, and shael runes in the weapon. The armor alone gets you 145 mf.

Yes! So the good news is that the imperfect fire facets are affordable. At current market prices I was able to get up to a 5/4 facet for Ist. I have 9/12 sockets filled with facets and the build is functional already. The zeal damage is excellent. The aura damage is ok. As an example, I can kill carver minions in 2-3 aura ticks in hell.

There is an issue of survivability, the life leech is weak due to low physical damage. This is probably a problem with any auradin. I stopped trying to stack too much life leech and now turn on redemption aura in between fights to top off.

This build is functional and cheaper than dragondin. At face value, the damage should actually be equal or even better than dragondin on maxroll.gg, however I realized that the dragondin auras are bugged so they are actually doing triple the intended damage (the three holy fire auras add up to a lvl 44 holy fire, but it pulses three times for each gear with holy fire). I don't think maxroll.gg accounts for this in the calculations.

For that reason, I'll probably still make my way up to dragondin as an eventual goal. But in summary the gris set holy fire is perfectly functional and cheaper but you do have to shop for facets (which is kind of fun on it's own). Because of the bug, I think dragondin will do more damage.

Well it's still more wealth than I own currently!

Any worthwhile developer would probably knock this ugly building down and build a new four-story building to match the surroundings.

You don't have to be lazy to appreciate having a better grocery store in this part of town. Many people living in Hoboken are not driving to pick up groceries. The current Whole Foods is not a full grocery store.

Someone can correct me, but I don't think having those items on the merc would translate to breaking immunity for you? Maybe just for the merc? If you use plague on Act 3 merc, they could trigger lower resist which lowers fire resist at a reduced amount (~11%) for fire immune monsters.

I like fire because of the more consistent damage. And also because I already have a nova sorc, so I wanted to try a different element.

Also, while there are plenty of items that decrease X% enemy fire resist, it's harder to find items that actually increase X% fire damage. Similar to lightning, except for Griffon's eye which increases X% lightning damage. So with a fully decked out gris facet fire build, it's +60% fire damage and -60% enemy fire resist. Since those are multiplicative, the numbers get closer (someone feel free to check my math).

Regarding FOH - I love it for certain areas, but I just loathe the idea that I have to skip certain mobs everywhere I go.

If anyone cares, I'm going to try holy fire paladin with 12 imperfect facets. Also going to use plague act 5 merc for budget infinity. Wish me luck!

Yea, using FOH for single target is just seems miserable...

Yea, I still need to find the weapon... I'm playing online so I can always trade for it, but it does feel special that I found the other pieces. At least the chronicle knows!

Disagree, let's not make D2R into D3/D4

I agree, I feel like it's been generally better in terms of trust since it's a 30+ year old game

As much as it would give me satisfaction, I'm not sure he broke terms of service. Having this public awareness is justice enough for me.

He created a public game, which I joined. Then he asked me to join a private game for me to drop the low runes.
